Tim was born in 1981 in Philadelphia to a Christian family, and his father was a pastor. As a result, he showed musical talent at a young age, learning to play a variety of instruments like the saxophone and keyboards at his dad's church. It wasn't until he graduated from high school that he returned to Korea for the first time. At the age of 20, he came to an important crossroads in his life when he was discovered by a producer in Korea and had his first performance as a pop singer in Korea. For a conservative family like theirs, it was a difficult decision for Tim to move to Korea and he decided to work his way up to become a singer. He flew to Seoul, his first time away from his family, and abandoned his college career in Philadelphia. He devoted himself to learning Korean and working on his first album. While preparing for his album, he was lucky enough to meet Yoon Sang (I don't know how to say it in Chinese, but it's probably a translation of something like Yong Sang), a famous Korean big brother. Yoon Sang wrote the song "I Love You" for him, which fits TIM's voice and the way he feels. Yoon Sang helped TIM a lot in establishing his style. TIM's first album came out in 2003, and it was a big hit with folk-loving listeners. Tim's first album came out in 2003 and was very well received by folk-loving audiences. Shin Seung-hoon (unknown), who debuted before him, has also expressed his love for his voice, and TIM's voice is widely recognized in Korea.
TIM has become another shining star after Lee Seung-hwan and Shin Seung-hoon. Unlike the usual male singers who put effort into their performances, TIM is more recognized for his pure love of music (I don't really know how to express it, but I guess that's what it means).
