"Dreaming of the Water Country" is a song written by Luo Bing, composed by Zhou Di and sung by Jiang Shan. It was included in the album "Love Me Only" released by Star Dish Culture in December 1994.In 1995, the song won the Bronze Award and the Special Honor Award in the China Music Television Grand Prix.
Biography of Jiang Shan
Jiang Shan was born into a film family. Her father, Jiang Huaiyan, had worked as an actor and director, and later became the director of the Literature Planning Department of Beijing Film Studio. Jiang Shan knew music before she knew theater. When she was a child, there was no TV, but there were movies. She watched open-air movies in the army compound, and her mom and dad were both opera singers from the earliest days, so Jiang Shan grew up with an ear for music and the stage. When she was in junior high school, Jiang Shan joined the China Youth Choir and became one of the first choir members, singing for three years.
Jiang Shan's English was good from a young age, and when she came to Beijing with her parents in elementary school, she happened to be attending a pilot school with English classes. Because of her father's relationship (Jiang Shan's father Jiang Huaiyan was a literary editor at the Beijing Film Studio), the Beijing Film Studio originally had internal reference and information films, so she was able to watch a few English-language movies in two weeks. Before going to the Chinese opera, Jiang Shan originally wanted to take the Foreign Language Institute.
