Teochew Big Drums and Gongs

There are 18 sets of Chaozhou gongs and drums that have been passed down, divided into the cultural sets and martial arts sets. The musical instruments used are big drums, medium drums, dueling gongs, big cymbals, small cymbals, high gongs, deep gongs, suo gongs, qinzai gongs, moon gongs, etc. The wind instruments are mainly suona and flute, and there are also yangqin, yangqin, triple-stringed, pipa, tihu and dahu, etc. When the big gongs are played, they are performed with big gongs and flutes, which is the most popular instrument in Chaozhou. The drums are the center of the performance, and the drummers play with different rhythms of the bottom drum (also known as "mingjie" or "zhenjie") and different gestures (i.e. "subdued" and "relaxed" gestures) with different rhythms of the bottom drum (also known as "mingjie" or "zhenjie") and different rhythms of the bottom drum (also known as "mingjie" or "zhenjie").
