Introduction to Zhuang Music

There are more than 17 million Zhuang people (2005 statistics), of which more than 90% live in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, while the rest live in Wenshan, Yunnan, Lianshan, Guangdong, and Jianghua, Hunan. The Zhuang people love to sing, and there is a tradition of holding customary song festivals every year, which are called Song Wei in the northern dialect area, and Bu Po and Ou Tun in the southern dialect area.
