Passion is adapted from the Broadway musical Sugar. The time background is 1929 prohibition period. This film is one of the most wonderful comedies in film history, with perfect cast, perfect editing and director.

Monroe has three songs in the film, but the whole film doesn't look like a musical. The lines are full of wisecracks. The most classic is that when the fake fiancee played by lemon tells the truth that she is not a woman, the other party says "no one is perfect", which has become one of the most classic finale lines. Curtis's imitation of gary grant's plot is one of the countless highlights in the play.
