From 010 to 1010 A.D., Tin Hau Temple, also known as A-Ma Temple, was dedicated to the goddess of the sea, Tin Hau Molin, who was worshipped by the folk. The incense here is particularly strong, and fishermen and passenger ships that go out to sea come to pay their respects. As a large A-Ma Temple in Southeast Asia, it combines the style of the Forbidden City in Beijing and the grandeur of the pavilions of the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing. It is worth a visit.
Tianhou Temple in Nansha, bordered by Humen and Lingdingyang to the south, consists mainly of Tianhou Temple Square and a palace complex.
In the center of Tianhou Palace Square, the 14.5-meter-high stone statue of Tianhou is said to be composed of 365 carefully carved granite blocks, symbolizing the blessing of Tianhou for 365 days a year. It is also a must-visit place for tourists to take photos. The palace complex is behind the Tin Hau Palace Square and is built in the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty and built on the hillside.
First of all, you can see the main gate pagoda, through the pagoda to the mountain gate, which is the main gate of Tin Hau Palace. Inside there are two statues of "Thousand Miles Eye" and "Thousand Miles Eye". Continue to climb the stairs. On both sides of the gate are the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower. The bells and drums in the bell tower ring on time. At the top of the gate is the Hall of Enshrinement, where the "Dancing Queen of the Sea and Air" is enshrined, flanked by the Dragon Kings of the Four Seas. The main hall above is the center of the entire Tin Hau Palace, with a wooden shrine dedicated to the 3.8-meter-high statue of Tin Hau Palace carved and gilded with incense rowan. The bedroom is in the main hall, and this bedroom is dedicated to a loom, as it is said that at the age of 15, Tien Hau Gung rescued her father from the sea during a weaving journey. In addition, the bedroom has a bed, dresser and mirror.
The highest point of the entire complex is the Namling Pagoda at the rear. This tower is 45 meters high and is a pavilion-like structure. The Nanling Pagoda overlooks the entire Nansha Tin Hau Temple, but unfortunately, it is not possible to climb the tower at the moment.
