Autumn wind treats no one, go to Luoyang city first.
The main idea of this poem is that travelers always want to reach their destination as soon as possible and always arrange their trips within the expected time. However, the autumn wind arrived in Luoyang before them.
This poem depicts a traveler's anxiety about travel and his feelings about time. By describing the traveler's mentality, the poet expressed his helplessness over the passage of time and his thoughts on the shortness of life.
The story described in Hou Shu Dao:
1, the anxiety of travelers. In the first sentence of this poem, the poet describes the traveler's mental state. They always want to get to their destination as soon as possible and always arrange their trips within the expected time. The word "struggle" expresses the anxiety and eagerness of travelers, and also implies the urgency of time and the shortness of life.
2. A confident journey. In the second sentence of the poem, "The Expected Journey", the poet further describes the traveler's journey. They always travel to different places within the expected time and arrange their own itinerary. The word "expectation" expresses travelers' control and confidence in their itinerary, and also implies their cognition of their own life and time.
3. The ruthlessness of autumn wind. In the third sentence of the poem, "Autumn wind does not treat each other", the poet suddenly turned around and described the ruthlessness and unpredictability of autumn wind. The autumn wind did not wait for the travelers, but arrived in Luoyang earlier than them. The word "don't treat each other" expresses the poet's helplessness and short-term thinking about the passage of time.
4. The ruthlessness of time. In the fourth sentence of the poem, "Go to Luoyang City first", the poet further describes the ruthlessness and unpredictability of autumn wind. The autumn wind arrived in Luoyang city earlier than the travelers. The word "first arrival" expresses the poet's helplessness over the passage of time and his reflection on the brevity of life. It also implies the ruthlessness and irreversibility of time.
