What harm can electromagnetic pulse do?

Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is a kind of transient electromagnetic phenomena, which can damage facilities such as electronics, information, electric power, photoelectricity and microwave in the form of space radiation propagation, burn the semiconductor insulation layer or integrated circuit of electronic equipment, and even cause equipment failure or permanent damage.

First of all, the instantaneous electric field established by strong electromagnetic pulse redistributes the electric field inside the communication system, forming surge voltage, which damages the communication signal system.

Secondly, the electric field in the communication system redistributes instantly, forming inrush current and destroying the communication signal system.

Thirdly, the strong electromagnetic field passes through the internal circuit of the communication system, generating induced current, causing differential mode interference of communication signals and damaging the system.

Finally, due to the rich spectrum of strong electromagnetic pulse, microelectronic devices are prone to resonance heating damage.
