Square Shiqi Town has a long history, from the 33rd year of Emperor Qin Shi Huang (214 BC) unified Lingnan to build the Panyu County, gradually the Central Plains of the military and people moved south to live in the territory, so far, there has been a history of more than 2,000 years. The village of Shiqi was founded in the early Ming Dynasty, and was named after a stone wuqi board and stone wuqi pieces at the head of the village, which is called "Turtle like a stone". Shiji is an ancient civilized town with a long and rich cultural history, rich educational resources and a strong educational tradition. It has produced famous figures such as educator and calligrapher Mai Huasan, and a generation of martial arts master Huang Xiaowan, etc. It has the famous Sha Chung Ao-yu Dance, Dalong Confucius Festival, Lingbian Beggar's Tale Festival, etc. and historical attractions such as Pangdong Liufang Hall, Shek Kee Tong'an She, and Xinqiao Jiucheng Academy, etc. Among them, Sha Chung Village has a long cultural history with its Ao-yu dance, Dalong Confucius Festival, and Lingbian Beggar's Tale Festival. On the evening of December 13th, 2007, the Cultural Center Theater The Cultural Center Theater was filled with laughter and Cantonese rhythm. Sponsored by the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Shrimp Cavity Art Research Association, Panyu District Cultural Center, and co-organized by Shiji Town Culture and Sports Center, the "Shrimp Cavity Famous Songs Appreciation Party" was held in Shiji Town. Thousands of music lovers gathered to enjoy the Cantonese opera feast, cultural feast.
The evening's program was full of excitement and applause. There were both "Wang Dayu's Confession" by Mr. Luo Jiabao, a famous Cantonese opera performer in Guangdong Province, and "Night Battle with Ma Chao", an opera by Jin'ao Music Society. In addition, there were wonderful Cantonese operas such as "White Jade and Red Plum" and "The Tassel Picking Party" presented by Mr. Zhang Jinxi, Mr. Pan Chuhong, Mr. Fan Chunrong and Mr. He Fengmei. The folding opera "The Phantom Meeting with Empress Zhou" brought the opera evening to a climax and won a warm response from the audience. Among them, the performers of "Night Battle with Ma Chao", Jiang Jianping and Chen Zhiwei, both of whom are students of Shiji No.2 Middle School, won the first place in the "Panyu District Private Partnership Competition" Dagang Competition. This fully demonstrates that Shiji Town's cultural development is booming, and a generation of excellent Cantonese opera and music talents are growing rapidly.
