Yang Yuanyuan's tragedy is the epitome of a considerable number of families at the bottom of society. They hope to change the fate of poverty through reading, and they firmly believe that "knowledge can definitely change fate." However, they are simple-minded and fail to realize the decisive role of "background", "relationship" and "connections" in today's society, which leads them to fail to cater to society, thus making their struggle futile.
Fate and its direction are the result of multiple factors. Whether fate changes or not, knowledge is only one of the thrusts. In a certain historical period, if knowledge-based talents meet the needs of that era and society, and the mechanism of selecting and appointing talents is relatively fair and annoying, then knowledge can play a key role in changing fate.
