Why do joints rattle during exercise?

Some people will hear the sound of "gab, gab" from their joints during exercise, especially during warm-up activities. There are two kinds of joint noise; One is that although there is noise, there is no pain, which is physiological, and the other is that there is noise accompanied by pain, which is more common in people with joint problems.

During exercise, due to heavy load or strong muscle contraction, the articular surfaces will collide or rub with each other, and there will be low noise. In addition, when joints are pulled by external forces, for example, some people have the habit of stretching metacarpophalangeal joints. At this time, because the joint is pulled apart, the negative pressure in the joint cavity increases, and the joint fluid vibrates violently and makes a sound. When the external force disappears, the attraction generated by the negative pressure in the joint cavity and the resilience of the joint capsule and surrounding muscles make the two joint surfaces collide again, which will also produce sound. The above two kinds of joint noise are produced by normal joint activities, which are physiological and are more common in people who participate in sports for the first time and have weak muscle strength around the joints. With the improvement of fitness level, muscle strength, ligament strengthening and movement coordination, this kind of sound will decrease.

Some people's tissues around the joints proliferate, and the friction in the joints increases during exercise, which will also make a high note. Then it is necessary to strengthen joint preparation activities, massage or hot compress in time after exercise to prevent excessive proliferation and adhesion of joint tissue.

Joint movement is not only noisy, but also painful, which is more common in people with joint injury, arthritis or joint deformity. Pay special attention to the noise and pain of load-bearing joints during exercise. Go to the hospital in time and ask the doctor to determine whether it affects exercise.
