Zhangzhou Health Vocational College is a full-time public higher vocational college, founded in 1934, and its predecessor was Zhangzhou Union Medical College Hospital Senior Nurse Vocational School. Since its establishment, the school has experienced vicissitudes, mergers, relocations, difficult start, tortuous progress and several stages of reform and development. It is the deputy director unit of nursing specialty of the National Health Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, the chairman unit of midwifery specialty sub-committee, the member unit of clinical medicine specialty, the training base of talents (nursing specialty) in Fujian Province, and the humanitarian and life education base of Fujian Red Cross.
