A Happy Old Man —— Professor Zheng Xinmin from Shanghai International Studies University

As soon as we get the schedule, we can't wait to see which big coffees will give us lessons. When I saw the words Professor of Shanghai International Studies University, my heart surged. Shanghai International Studies University is a national key university that entered the "2 1 1" project and is the authority of language colleges. It is an honor to listen to Professor Zheng's report.

In the morning, I walked into the classroom with excitement. A burly middle-aged man in a straw hat is familiar with courseware. I guess it must be Professor Zheng. Can you see that Professor Zheng is sixty-two years old? No, he looks young, smart and full of energy.

He has created a good listening and speaking atmosphere for us all morning. He asked us to use English all the time, and he has been demonstrating for us since the moment he spoke.

Task 1: Everyone asks him a question. We are all afraid of encountering difficulties and ask questions one after another in broken English. Professor Zheng not only commented on our questions, but also answered them with standard pronunciation.

Then Professor Zheng said that through the practice of the first link, he had a general understanding of our questioning ability and pronunciation level, and told us that as a teacher, we must have the ability to ask good questions, and learning to ask questions is the basis of efficient classroom.

Task 2: In groups of four or five people, evaluate the quality of our previous questions and correct them.

In the process of completing the task, a small group of people answered irrelevant questions. Professor Zheng cleverly told us that as a teacher, we must ask clear and definite questions and be brave enough to take responsibility.

In the afternoon, Professor Zheng gave a report on cultivating oral English ability, and the activities ran through. Our attention is highly concentrated and our thinking is fast. The mode of reading-speaking-discussing-impromptu dialogue is almost endless.

One day passed in a hurry, and Professor Zheng's report benefited me a lot. After a day of listening and speaking training in pure English, I found that my problem is not that I can't understand, but that I can't express it. What limits my expressive ability is not my lack of vocabulary, but my lack of English-speaking atmosphere and environment. Professor Zheng has repeatedly urged you to practice oral English every day and stick to it!

Professor Zheng talked for two hours in a row. Although there was sweat on his head, he didn't give up halfway. He always uses humorous language to mobilize us, an old man in his sixties. It is not easy to do this. When asked whether being a teacher is boring, he smiled and said: Nothing will be boring as long as you work hard. His answer reminds me of Miss Yan. Through unremitting efforts, they have gained the capital to harvest happiness. How can they be bored when they are surrounded by happiness?

When asked how to keep healthy, he smiled like a child and simply replied: Try to be happy, just eat, smile and sleep. This law actually applies to everyone, and it is a kind of ability and accomplishment to make yourself happy.
