Guangxi Medical University, located in Nanning, Guangxi, was founded by the National Health and Wellness Commission and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a first-class university in Guangxi, and it has been selected into the national "11plan", "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities", "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Plan" and national specialty construction points.
State-level universities with typical experience in graduate employment and those with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship are one of the 22 medical universities established earlier in China, one of the first 30 universities approved by the Ministry of Education with the qualification to recruit international students majoring in clinical medicine (English teaching), and one of the first eight medical universities in China to recruit foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan (overseas Chinese).
