What conditions does China need to adopt orphans?

Adoption of children in China requires the following conditions:

1, an adult with full capacity for civil conduct, that is, able to carry out civil activities independently and with normal mental health;

2. The adopter is over 30 years old, but the adoption of orphans or disabled children is not subject to this restriction, and the adoption of stepchildren by stepparents is not subject to this restriction. If a man without a spouse adopts a woman, the age difference between the adopter and the adoptee is more than 40 years old, but the adoption of children with collateral blood relatives of the same age within three generations is not subject to this restriction;

3. There are no children, but the adoption of orphans or disabled children is not subject to this restriction, and the adoption of stepchildren by stepparents is not subject to this restriction. The adoption of overseas Chinese children with collateral blood relatives of the same age within three generations is not subject to this restriction, or although they have children, their children suffer from serious diseases such as mental illness, and they can also adopt healthy children in the future;

4. Have the ability to raise and educate the adoptee. Those who have a proper occupation or a reliable source of income can take care of the adoptee's life and bear the corresponding economic expenses.

Adoption certificate handling process:

1, the adoption certificate requires the parties to go through the formalities in person;

2. Provide household registration book, ID card, health certificate and other materials;

3. Submit relevant certificates and materials to the registration department. After submitting the materials, fill in the adoption application form as required;

4, review, review through the adoption certificate can be issued.

The materials needed to adopt a child are as follows:

1. The adopter shall submit an application for adoption and the following documents and supporting materials to the adoption registration authority:

(1) the adopter's household registration book and identity card;

(2) A certificate issued by the adopter's unit or villagers' committee or residents' committee on his marital status, whether he has children and the ability to raise and educate the adoptee;

(3) a medical certificate issued by a medical institution at or above the county level that he has not suffered from a disease that is medically considered unsuitable for adopting a child.

2. If an abandoned baby or child whose biological parents cannot be found is adopted, it shall submit the certificate of fertility issued by the family planning department of the adopter's habitual residence. If an abandoned baby or child whose biological parents cannot be found is adopted by a non-social welfare institution, the adopter shall also submit the following supporting materials:

(1) A certificate issued by the family planning department of the adopter's habitual residence that the adopter has no children;

(2) The report certificate of picking up abandoned children issued by the public security organ;

(3) Where a stepchild is adopted, only the household registration book, identity card and proof that the adopter is married to the adopted father or mother may be submitted.

To sum up, the conditions for adopting orphans in China are that the adopter has only one child or no children, is medically unfit to adopt children, has no criminal record, and is over 30 years old.
