College students' mental health center held a sharing meeting of reading salon.

On March19th, at 2 1 o'clock, the 60th reading salon sharing meeting hosted by the College Students' Mental Health Center was held as scheduled. The theme of this salon is "Say No to Pseudopsychology". Under the guidance of Mr. Zhong, Mr. Pan from 16 College of Liberal Arts was the keynote speaker, and all the full-time teachers in the center attended.

At the beginning, the speaker Pan first raised a question: Do you think psychology is a science? The little teaching assistant is not in a hurry to let everyone answer, so let everyone continue listening with this question. Then, in Say No to Pseudopsychology, Assistant Pan shared the classification of psychological reading materials-mainly divided into three types: some classic works in early psychology, pseudoscience books disguised as psychology and self-help reading materials, each with its own characteristics. The early psychological classics, represented by Freud's works, put forward many theories about psychology, which caused an extraordinary sensation at that time. However, the previous methods are also flawed. First of all, he did not take part in the control experiment; Secondly, he exaggerated the case study and reflection. Of course, the early psychological works still have a far-reaching impact on later generations. The second kind of psychological reading is called "pseudoscience books disguised as psychology". What is this kind of book? For example, books on telepathy, reincarnation, plant communication, and channeling have not been confirmed. But Mr. Zhong said that some people with religious beliefs may believe some of the above statements, which is related to their beliefs. Self-help books, often very enlightening, will claim that after reading this book, there will be immediate results. In the library, we seldom see some books about "after reading this book, the interview will be successful" or harvesting love.

Small teaching assistants put forward individual psychology and scientific psychology in psychology. Individual psychology is related to one's own experience, and it is often a summary of one's own psychological phenomenon, which is summed up from one's own life experience, but it is not systematic. Such as our self-confidence or inferiority complex. Therefore, in a sense, everyone is a psychologist, which also makes sense. However, scientific psychology, in short, is a systematic science, which is summed up over time.
