Third, the purpose of the activity:
April 7th is World Health Day, which aims to draw the world's attention to health and hygiene work and improve people's quality and understanding in the field of health. On this day every year, people all over the world hold various commemorative activities, emphasizing the importance of health for labor creation and happy life. The Organic Law stipulates that every year on World Health Day, the World Health Organization announces a publicity theme, and countries carry out publicity activities around this theme to promote the development of health undertakings. The theme of 20XX is "vector-borne diseases". Simply put, vectors are small organisms such as mosquitoes, bedbugs, lice and freshwater snails, which can spread diseases from one person to another and from one place to another. Whether we are at home or traveling, they will threaten our health. Environmental challenges such as trade globalization, tourism, climate change and urbanization have affected the spread of these diseases, leading to the emergence of these diseases in countries that did not exist before. Malaria is the deadliest vector-borne disease. It is estimated that 660,000 people died of this disease in 20XX, most of whom were African children. Dengue fever is the fastest growing vector-borne disease in the world, which has increased 30 times in the past 50 years. 20XX World Health Day will focus on some of the most common vectors (mosquitoes, sandflies, bedbugs, ticks and snails, etc.). ) spread a large number of parasites and pathogens to humans or animals. For example, mosquitoes spread not only malaria and dengue fever, but also lymphatic filariasis, chikungunya fever, Japanese encephalitis and yellow fever. The purpose of this special activity carried out by the Youth Federation Branch of our hospital is to raise awareness of vectors and the threat of vector-borne diseases and to promote families and communities to take preventive measures. One of the core contents of the activity is to provide information to the society, so that everyone can understand World Health Day, vectors, diseases and the harm caused by vectors. So as to enhance people's health awareness and let travelers in countries where vectors and vector-borne diseases pose a threat to health know how to protect themselves and effectively curb the spread of vector-borne diseases.
