What is safe and healthy food? What are the specific requirements for its production and processing?

Generally, "pollution-free food", "green food" and "organic food" are regarded as the signs of food safety, health and environmental protection. Experts pointed out that although they all belong to the category of food safety and health, there are still differences.

Pollution-free food refers to the safe and nutritious food that is produced or processed in a good ecological environment according to the production standards and operating procedures of pollution-free agricultural products, and the toxic substances (or residues) such as pesticides, heavy metals, nitrates and hormones are controlled within the scope of safety and hygiene, and meet the mandatory standards of relevant countries, industries and localities.

Green food does not refer to "green" food, but refers to pollution-free safe, high-quality and nutritious food approved by China Green Food Development Center. There is a relatively complete quality standard system for developing green food. Green food production must follow, and quality certification must follow the technical documents of this standard.

Organic food refers to all agricultural and sideline products that come from the organic agricultural production system, are produced and processed according to international organic agricultural production standards, and are certified by independent organic food certification bodies. Organic food standards adopt internationally recognized certification standards, which require that the origin is pollution-free, that chemically synthesized food preservatives, additives, artificial colors and organic solvent extracts are not used in the production process, that they are not polluted by organic chemicals during storage and transportation, and that they must meet the national food hygiene requirements and food industry quality standards.
