Why did Qianlong pass the throne to Jiaqing?

The first point is that Emperor Qianlong paid too much attention to rights. Emperor Jiaqing was a stable prince, paying attention to benevolence and filial piety, especially listening to Emperor Qianlong. Even though Emperor Qianlong realized the oath that his reign time was less than that of his grandfather Kangxi, he was still in his own hands when he abdicated, so in order to preserve his rights, he chose the relatively mediocre Emperor Jiaqing as the emperor.

Second, many of his children died young because he lived too long. The most famous is May Yongqi. Anyone who has seen Princess Zhu Huan knows that Yongqi is very favored. In reality, May Yongqi was also very popular with Emperor Qianlong. He was also the first person to be made a sovereign by Emperor Qianlong, but in reality Mei Yongqi was not as happy as in TV series. He died young, so he took the emperor. In addition to Mei's untimely death, there are many princes who died young and died young.

Third, apart from those external reasons, there are some internal reasons, that is, Emperor Jiaqing has a good personality and understands the overall situation. Emperor Qianlong appreciated it very much, and among the other philosophers, Emperor Jiaqing was my favorite.
