2030 mental health education

Psychology major is ok, not unpopular, and the employment prospects are getting better and better.

Psychology is mysterious in people's mindset. In the eyes of former parents, psychology is the study of human psychology. What is there to learn? Can you find a job after graduation? It is better to study finance and computer, so you can look at the technology you need.

It is true that in the previous environment, there were few jobs related to psychology, so this major has not been very hot. Even eight years ago, psychology was an unpopular major.

However, in the current social environment, psychological knowledge can not be separated from prenatal education, early education, habit formation and career planning, and primary and secondary schools and universities have gradually begun to attach importance to students' mental health. With the acceleration of people's pace of life and the increase of work pressure, more and more people will have some psychological problems, mental health has gradually attracted people's attention, and psychology has gradually gained broader development opportunities.

1. Wide employment scope

Professional direction of pure psychology: psychological counselor, psychotherapist in hospital or clinic, with strong professionalism and high entry threshold.

Traditional employment orientation: civil servants, primary and secondary school teachers, human resources, university teachers, psychology lecturers, etc. These are more traditional posts, which are relatively stable. With the gradual emphasis on mental health in China, the demand for jobs in the traditional employment direction is increasing year by year.

New employment direction: product manager, user research, psychological evaluation, teaching and training industry, etc. , mainly concentrated in big cities. As a tool guide, psychology has obvious advantages and is very popular in these positions.

2. High salary level

At present, psychology is gradually applied to various industries, recognized and introduced by various enterprises, and wages are relatively high in big cities.

3. Less competition

First, according to "Healthy China Action (20 19-2030)" promulgated by the state, from 2022, there will be a large number of mental health education teacher posts, which need to be filled by relevant professionals. According to the standards of social development, China only needs about 500,000 psychological counselors in psychological counseling-related industries, and there is a huge talent gap.

Secondly, there are about 20 thousand graduates majoring in psychology in China every year, which is far from enough to fill the market vacancy.

Thirdly, since Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security abolished the professional qualification certificate of psychological counselors, social organizations/enterprises have gradually taken on the heavy responsibility of vocational education, training and talent development, but there are limited organizations/institutions with psychological vocational training and certification qualifications, which has delayed the development of talents.
