How many kinds of altar cities are there?

What is Tancheng? How many kinds are there? What does Dawei Tancheng symbolize?

Datura King Kong, a brave and powerful man.

The Sanskrit "Datura" and the Tibetan "Jin Keer" are translated into Chinese, which means the central and peripheral environment. In Han Buddhism, "righteousness" is generally used to express it. The so-called "positive" refers to the external environment, and the so-called "positive" refers to the main life. Of course, in the secret continuation, the word "Tancheng" was also used directly. In fact, Datura is a symbol of Buddha land and pure land.

The Buddha nature is boundless, and the pure land is boundless. Although Buddhism and Taoism are the same, there is no difference in the realm of enlightenment, but they have their own characteristics in terms of will, skin color and occupation. , so the dense mandala is also colorful, colorful. But no matter what kind of mandala it is, it is a symbol of pure land and Buddhist country, and it represents a complete world and a complex philosophical symbol.

From the form of expression, Datura can be divided into four kinds, namely, colored sand Datura, painted Datura, meditation Datura and body Datura.

Among these Datura, the colored sand Datura is extremely important, and the preparation process is also the most complicated, including adding foundation, sprinkling water, dancing diamond and so on. In the Gelug Sect, some important large-scale initiation can only be held in painting sand mandalas, such as the famous Buddha and Wheel King Kong, which are not taught in ordinary painting Thangka mandala.

According to the structure of Datura, there are two kinds: plane and three-dimensional. The most common Datura is in the form of a plane, which shows the three-dimensional Buddhist temple like a blueprint, including architectural design and many decorative details. Each component is a symbol, and both painted sand and painted mandala are flat. The three-dimensional altar city is made of wood, metal or other solid substances.

Although these Datura mentioned above have profound philosophical symbols and are the concretization and personification of abstract things, they still belong to the external Buddhist model. In specific practice, a complete mandala must be established in the mind according to these external manifestations, which is the main role of mandala in specific spiritual purification. Through this practice of observing Datura from the inside, tantric philosophy holds that the process of becoming a Buddha can be greatly shortened, which is one of the main reasons why tantric teaching method is superior to paramita teaching method. In Secret Continuation, this way of contemplating the practice of Datura is not completely divorced from the originality of Zoroastrianism, and even in the classics of Zoroastrianism, especially the Pure Land Sect, we can find clues.

The main body of Datura David is generally divided into four parts, from the inside out, this is the deity and his family, the boundless palace, two layers of guard wheels, and eight corpse forests. Generally speaking, when we watch the painted and sand-picked Datura, we basically look down from the sky, so many things in Datura may not be displayed on the screen, and we need to rely on numerous classics to know. Datura was established to change ordinary people's unclean understanding of the life and living environment of secular subjects, so the composition of Datura is similar to the formation of the world, based on wind wheels, water wheels and earth wheels. Datura Vader Vajrayana was established by the triangular source (i.e. triangular tube) born in Vajrayana, and the bottom gradually became thinner and the top became wider. The triangle symbolizes emptiness, no phase, no wish, narrow at the bottom and wide at the top, and symbolizes the growth of wisdom through Buddhist practice. The triangular tube is white outside and red inside, symbolizing joy and emptiness. Datura's endless palaces are all within the source of dharma, which symbolizes that Datura has been changed by happiness and empty wisdom.

There is no essential difference between the main Buddha of Datura in the center and the main Buddha of Vader Vajrayana Datura, and it is generally replaced by Vader Vajrayana or Vader. The lotus under the main Buddha symbolizes the great secret method. Although we take greed and other troubles as the way, we are not contaminated with troubles in our hearts, just like lotus leaves mud and is not stained.

Then there is the boundless palace, which is an equilateral square, symbolizing that at the most practical level, Buddha is equal to all beings. The boundless palace has four doors in four directions, symbolizing the five pillars of four mindfulness, four righteousness, four feet and faith in the Buddhist practice stage. The four colors of white, yellow, red (green) and black in the boundless palace represent the four basic elements of matter. Each of the four doors has a memorial arch, which symbolizes the four Zen in the color world. Four sacrifices to the goddess of heaven symbolize four kinds of samadhi, and four are clear. The boundless palace is decorated with all kinds of treasures, symbolizing the good wishes of all sentient beings.

Thirteen Datura Dawei

There are eight 11-level archways supported by short columns in front of the four temples. The archway is decorated with double deer Falun (which can be seen in the Buddhist halls and gatehouses of all Tibetan Buddhist temples). The eight pillars symbolize the right path, and the double deer Falun symbolizes the first time that the Buddha preached in Luoguyuan after becoming a Buddha, and conquered the heretics with the Buddha.

A string of semi-circular and vertical jewels and wind chimes hung outside the wall, symbolizing the troubles brought by monasticism and the hidden seeds or bodhi energy in the body. Wind chimes symbolize the preaching of Buddhism. There are banners and treasure covers on it, arranged at intervals. The banner symbolizes the victory over the four demons, and the treasure cover symbolizes the six divisions of saving the mire of all beings and the wheel of karma.

The third lap is the protection wheel. The role of the protection wheel is to protect itself from external demons. There is a double guard wheel of the Great Wade King Kong, and the innermost one is a special guard wheel, which is occupied by ten furious Ming kings. However, the Thangka drawn generally is not displayed, which may be related to the fact that it is relatively dense and cannot be leaked, so I will not introduce it here. * * * The child's wheel is a circle of flames and countless small diamond pestles that we saw in Thangkari. It symbolizes that you are in a protective wheel composed of the hardest king kong in the world, and the flame burns around you, so no evil soul can enter and hurt yourself.

The fourth part is the outermost eight-corpse forest. The eight resin forests of Datura Vader are outside the guard wheel, and the eight resin forests of Datura Vajrayana are inside the guard wheel, which causes this difference.

The symbol of Eight Corpses Forest has many meanings, which basically contains all the contents of Buddhism. Outside the King Kong Wall and the fire bunker, there are eight sacred trees named after cruelty and snake heart wood symbolizing the midvein of the body. There are eight patrons under the tree, such as Indra, symbolizing the downward movement of ten kinds of qi in the body; There are eight miraculous guardians on the treetops, such as the elephant-headed monster, which symbolizes the spirit of holding life, and these three also symbolize the left, middle and right veins;

There are eight compassion pools, symbolizing secular bodhicitta; There are eight dragon kings in the pool, such as Guang Cai, symbolizing six degrees; There are eight kinds of clouds above the corpse forest, such as roar, which symbolize white bodhi; There are eight burning wisdom fires and eight pagodas on the ground. Fire symbolizes the wisdom without me and the fire of a fierce woman, and the pagoda symbolizes the Buddha's three-body fruit position and achievements.

There are scattered bones and complete skeletons, which symbolize the impermanence of life and the suffering of reincarnation. There are iron forks hanging from trees, and there are corpses lying on the ground, mutilated by eagles, dogs and wild animals, and killed by swords and guns, which symbolize the highest philosophy of Buddhism-the idea of selflessness, because dead bodies are not persistent. All the trees, water, etc. They are all counted in units of eight, symbolizing the rise and fall of dense multiplication.

Nowadays, many people question the secret law, especially the supreme secret continuation, which was not handed down by the Buddha himself, but forged by later generations. However, from the point of view of the significance represented by Datura Vajrayana, they are all Buddhist philosophical thoughts, including Mahayana Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism and the unique thoughts of Vajrayana who became a Buddha for the fifth time.

My mentor Guo Shuo Rinpoche once said: "All the paintings of Datura from the corpse forest to the boundless palace show the followers of the secret law and non-followers of the secret law." Being able to have a firm belief in the rare Vajrayana secret method proclaimed by only four of thousands of Buddhas is undoubtedly the result of the germination of good root seeds planted with many births and many robberies!
