Established in 1952, Shanghai Institute of Physical Education is one of the earliest physical education institutions in New China. 200 1 is managed by the State Sports General Administration and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. 20 17 was selected as the first batch of "double first-class" universities in China and the construction sequence of high-level local universities in Shanghai.
The school has two campuses, Yangpu and Xuhui, covering an area of more than 600 mu and a construction area of more than 350,000 square meters. Shanghai Institute of Physical Education is one of the first doctoral degree awarding units of China Institute of Physical Education (1986), and adheres to the policy of "paying equal attention to characteristics and quality, and promoting discipline construction and talent training". The last two national teaching achievement awards won the first prize of/kloc-0 and the second prize.
* * * 23 undergraduate majors; 20 19 12, sports training, martial arts and traditional national sports, sports rehabilitation, sports economy and management were approved as national first-class undergraduate majors. * * * There are four master's degree authorization points for first-class disciplines such as physical education, psychology, medical technology and journalism and communication, and three professional master's degree authorization points for physical education, tourism management and journalism and communication.

The school has a strong faculty and a group of famous scholars, coaches and referees, including foreign academicians of the National Institute of Physical Education, young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions at the national level, senior officials of international sports organizations and senior coaches of national sports teams. On 20 17, the team of physical education and health science teachers in the school was awarded the first batch of "Huang Danian-style teachers in national colleges and universities" by the Ministry of Education.
