Human beings mainly rely on vision to obtain external information, and the information collected by eyes accounts for 80%. However, our visual health is being greatly threatened. According to the statistics of the World Health Organization (WHO), there are 40 million to 50 million blind people in the world, and the low vision is three times that of the blind people, ranging from 65.438+035 billion to 65.438+0.4 million, of which 75%, that is, about 65.438+0 million patients can recover or improve their vision through surgery and refractive correction. There are 5 million blind people and 7.5 million people with low vision in China. In our country, the elderly and children with low vision can not be ignored. In China, there are 87 children with visual disabilities in 100.000, while among the elderly aged 60-69, there are 400 people with visual disabilities, 800 people aged 70-79, 80-89 people with visual disabilities in 1.200, and the number of people over 90 can reach 65,438. There are 450,000 new blind people and 654.38+0.35 million low vision in China every year. In view of this, 1999 WHO put forward the activity of "Vision 2020, global action to eliminate blindness and enjoy the right to see", of which China is a member. The five avoidable blindness are cataract, trachoma, river blindness (only in some African countries and a few Latin American countries), child blindness, low vision and ametropia. Ophthalmology has developed into an independent health care discipline in the United States. Optometrists include opticians, optometrists and ophthalmologists. Optometrists focus on eye measurement and production and have no medical background. Optometrists and ophthalmologists need eight years of medical or optometry education to get MD (Doctor of Medicine) or OD (Doctor of Optometry) respectively. Both need to obtain engineer qualification and license. Optometrists focus on eye care, similar to ophthalmology. China is a big country with myopia, and the myopia population accounts for 30% of the total population, and the myopia rate of teenagers is 30-70%. However, due to historical reasons, the traditional glasses industry has become a monopoly industry, and the market is chaotic, which affects the national visual health. Whether the optometry industry should be certified and work according to law has become a hot issue.

Since 2005, Qujing Medical College has taken the lead in vigorously promoting the "double-certificate training" mode in optometry specialty, and trained 10 batches of junior, middle and senior optometrists and lens grinders with characteristics and services. The double-certificate rate of optical students in school reached 99%, which enabled a large number of students to work with certificates and paid internships during the internship period. Because of their strong practical ability and solid foundation, graduates are in short supply. At the same time, vocational qualification certificate is a powerful means to standardize optometry industry and improve the influence of vocational training on training quality. At present, we have many optometry industries, such as Shenzhen doctors, Tian Ming, 750 and Daquan, which have cooperated with us for many years and become our practice bases to recruit optometry graduates. This is inseparable from our "double certificate training", and the professional qualification certification of optometry industry has become a real "passport" for employment.

There are more than 200 optometry related enterprises in Yunnan Province. Through the questionnaire survey in optometry center, ophthalmology department and optical shop, the necessity of qualification certification for optometry practitioners and the demand for professional training are obtained: from the academic composition of optometry practitioners, the master's degree or above is 1.7%, the undergraduate degree is 17%, the junior college degree is 80%, and the high school and equivalent degree is 65438%. 36.7% think the current optometry vocational training and certification standard, 56.6% think it is general, and 6.7% think it is not standard; 60% people think it is necessary to carry out standardized vocational training and certification for optometrists, 36.7% people think it is necessary, and 3.3% people think it is necessary to train or not. 50% people think that standardized vocational training and certification is very important for the professional development of optometrists, 45% people think it is important, and 5% people think it is average; 65% people think that standardized professional training and certification of optometrists is very helpful to better serve patients, 33.3% people think it is helpful, 1.7% people think it is possible; 53.3 think that standardized vocational training and certification is very important for future development, 40% think it is important and 6.7% think it is average; 3.3% are very confident about the development trend of standardized vocational training and certification, 60% are confident and 36.7% are skeptical.

At present, there are two medical colleges in Yunnan Province offering optometry specialty, which is divided into two levels: junior college and undergraduate course. Through the questionnaire survey, the students' understanding of standardized vocational training and certification is obtained: 15% students think that standardized vocational training and certification is standardized, 35% students think it is general, and 50% students think it is not standardized; 60% think it is necessary to carry out standardized vocational training and certification for optometrists, and 40% think it is necessary; 55% think that standardized vocational training and certification is very important for their career development, 35% think it is important, 10% think it is average; 70% people think that standardized vocational training and certification for optometrists is very helpful to better serve patients, and 30% people think it is helpful; 65% said they would definitely choose standardized vocational training and certification, and 35% said they should.

At the same time, we also surveyed people with different occupations, ages and education levels. To sum up, optometry plays a very important role in maintaining vision health; However, at present, the qualification certification of optometrists has not been fully standardized. It is imperative for optometrists to carry out professional standardized training and professional qualification certification, hold certificates and work according to law. The Decision of the Central Committee on Several Issues Concerning the Construction of the Socialist Market Economic System, adopted by the Third Plenary Session of the 14th CPC Central Committee, puts forward the system of combining academic diplomas with vocational qualification certificates in China. This relates to the improvement of the overall quality of China's labor force. This is an important measure related to the transformation of China's economic mode and the promotion of its international competitiveness. In March, 2003, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security issued Order No.6, requiring that job seekers should not be employed in occupations with complex technology, large quantity and wide coverage, involving personal safety, major property safety and consumer interests without training and obtaining corresponding qualification certificates [3]. The qualification certification system of employees in optometry industry is the main means to guide and standardize vocational training, and the training should be oriented to promoting employment. Vocational qualification certification is oriented by professional activities, based on practical operation and based on the principle of third-party certification. Its establishment is based on national laws, and its management mode is authorized by the government. It is an important part of China's labor and personnel system. Vigorously promoting the professional qualification certification system of optometry industry can comprehensively improve the quality of optometry industry and improve its working ability and employability. Have a certain level of professional ability in optometry industry. It can be said that the vocational qualification certificate is a "passport" for employment in the optometry industry.
