What is a psychological test?

"Psychology" is a very abstract concept for ordinary people. Refers to people's internal activities, including people's feelings, perceptions, memories, thinking, imagination, attention, emotions, intelligence, temperament, personality and other psychological phenomena. It is generally believed that people's psychological activities are elusive. In fact, psychological activities, like human physiological activities, can be measured and have certain rules to follow. For a long time, scientists have developed many methods to measure psychology, which are also called psychological tests.

When it comes to psychological testing, many people find it mysterious. In fact, psychological testing only uses some designed forms (professional names are scales or questionnaires) or some props (such as Webster's intelligence test kit for children) to investigate or test the testers, collect and record various psychological activities, and then draw conclusions through statistical analysis, and the results are used to evaluate the mental health of the testers. Simply put, psychological testing is to quantify people's psychological activities and get some data to judge the psychological problems of the testers. Children's psychological test is a science.

Psychological tests have been widely used in psychological research and clinical consultation of children and adolescents. At present, it is mainly used to analyze and evaluate children's psychological behavior development and screen various psychological problems, and it is also an important auxiliary examination method in the diagnosis of children's psychological diseases. Many psychological and behavioral development problems of children can generally be quantitatively analyzed through psychological tests, and corresponding objective data can be obtained, such as IQ, developmental quotient, hyperactivity index and so on.

When collecting children's information, psychologists usually need to use some psychological tests to analyze children's psychological quality and personality characteristics more objectively, besides listening to parents' descriptions of children's behavior, and make corresponding screening or diagnosis of psychological problems. For example, for a mentally retarded child, doctors must measure IQ and social adaptability before making a diagnosis. If you doubt whether your child has ADHD, you can do ADHD scale measurement. Therefore, it can be said that psychological test is an indispensable tool for clinical psychologists.

What are the contents of children's psychological test?

According to the different purposes of measurement, children's psychological tests can be roughly divided into seven categories:

Second, intelligence measurement (iq) is suitable for evaluating the intelligence level of children or adolescents over 4 years old.

Thirdly, the adaptive behavior assessment evaluates the level of children's adaptability to social life.

For example, when some units recruit employees, they should first measure the personality of the candidates, because people with different personalities are suitable for different jobs.

5. Performance measurement is used to measure the differences in all aspects of academic performance.

Six, screening measurement is used to screen whether children have the preconditions for receiving special learning, training or treatment, according to specific critical standards, screening or elimination.

Seven, the disease rating scale is used to evaluate the diagnosis or degree of different psychological or mental diseases, such as Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) and Depression Rating Scale.

As far as the number of psychological tests is concerned, there are more than 200 standardized tests in China, of which dozens can be used for children.
