What's the difference between bulk food and prepackaged foods?

The difference between bulk food and prepackaged foods;

1. Bulk food refers to food whose quality or volume is not determined in advance, and it is a concept corresponding to predetermined food.

The biggest feature of bulk food is that it is not' pre-quantified'.

Second, bulk food can be packaged, such as candy sold by piece; It can also be opened, such as rice sold by the piece. Whether there is packaging or not is not a sign to distinguish a predetermined amount of food from bulk food.

Three, prepackaged foods has a high degree of industrialization and standardization, food packaging in the smallest unit as a unit, not split sales. It is already packaged and can be sold directly.

According to the Measures for the Administration of Food Business License, food sales are divided into prepackaged foods sales (including frozen food, excluding frozen food), bulk food sales (including frozen food, excluding frozen food), special food sales (health food, formula food for special medical purposes, infant formula food such as infant formula milk powder) and other food sales.

This method classifies different food sales items. See Annex for the definitions of prepackaged foods and bulk food:

Prepackaged foods refers to food prepackaged or made with packaging materials and containers, including food prepackaged and prepackaged in packaging materials and containers with uniform quality or volume labels within a certain limit; Bulk food refers to the food that needs to be weighed and sold without pre-quantitative packaging, including unpackaged food and non-quantitative packaged food.

As can be seen from the above definition, there are two forms of prepackaged foods: one is pre-determined quantity packaging, and the other is pre-determined quantity production in packaging materials and containers.

Bulk food needs to be sold by weight, that is, the weight is not determined in advance and is priced according to the basic unit of measurement.

Both forms of prepackaged foods need to be quantified in advance. The predetermined quantity is the most basic requirement in prepackaged foods, and it is also the most remarkable sign that distinguishes it from bulk food. Obviously, judging whether it is prepackaged foods or bulk food depends on "pre-quantification" and whether it is "quantification" is very important.

Rapeseed oil produced in small workshops belongs to bulk food and has no label.
