Special needs education
Special education refers to the education of special objects by using special methods, equipment and measures. Special education in a narrow sense refers to the education of blind, deaf, dumb and mentally retarded children and the education of problem children, and supports such education from the aspects of economic investment, scientific research, teachers and equipment. Generally, institutions in various countries implement this kind of education: schools for the blind, schools for the deaf, schools for children with physical disabilities and deformities, training centers for children with language disabilities, forest schools, rehabilitation schools, special schools, schools for mentally retarded children, work-study schools, children's reformatory schools and special classes attached to ordinary schools.
Students majoring in special education mainly study the basic theories and knowledge of psychology and pedagogy of children with special educational needs, receive basic training in education and research of special children, and have the basic ability to carry out practical teaching and theoretical research.
