Healthy Journey Apple Edition

Recently, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, told business magazine that mental health is a crisis, and people should not "endlessly and meaningless" swipe their mobile phones.

The magazine pointed out that Cook has attached great importance to a mental health application called Shine in recent years, and the latter won the Best Application Award in the Apple App Store in 2020. Cook said that he believes that "mental health" is a crisis and a phrase that is "seriously stigmatized", and applications such as Shine are expected to improve the phenomenon that people suffer alone.

Cook said that as the leader of the company, he would often talk about his mental health. He often talks about ways to get rid of stress, such as meditation through hiking. He said that it is very important to talk about it freely, and no one can be unaffected in mental health.

Cook also said that he has always believed that technology should serve mankind, not the other way around. He has been worried about people using technology excessively, so Apple introduced "screen time" to try to let people really know the time they spend on devices, because it is usually much more than they say.

Cook pointed out that people "scroll the screen endlessly" and they are surrounded by negative emotions, which worries him. He said, "We want people to do something with their own devices, such as a photo exhibition that everyone likes, or contact family and friends through Face Time, instead of just brushing endlessly, which is meaningless."
