First, the field of scientific research in colleges and universities
The fields emphasized by school researchers include: nutritional biochemistry and metabolism; The origin of fetal, perinatal and childhood health and diseases; Clinical and epidemiological studies to optimize the health status of high-risk groups, including indigenous people, mothers and children, and the elderly; Develop new nutrition and/or nutritional health care methods to maintain health and treatment during surgery and recover from diseases.
This research is our field research laboratory. Second, the degree setting
1. Master of Human Nutrition (45 credits)
The master's degree program in human nutrition provides advanced nutrition courses in a wide range of research fields. This course is suitable for students with bachelor degree in nutrition, exercise physiology, kinematics, food science, biochemistry, medicine or other closely related fields. Students must complete advanced nutrition courses and activities related to thesis research. Our master's degree has been successful in research, international health institutions, government agencies and industries.
2. Master of Science, Applied Human Nutrition (part-time course): internship (45 credits)
The application of Master of Science is a curriculum-based master's course. It allows students to further develop nutrition knowledge and professional knowledge. Students must complete advanced nutrition courses and activities related to research projects or advanced internships (reserved for registered dietitians). Occupations include certified dietitian management positions, nutrition planning, government and industry occupations.
3. Master of Science, Applied Human Nutrition (part-time course): Nutrition Qualification Certificate (83 credits)
This is a course-based master's course, including the stage of nutrition (internship). After the course, students are eligible to obtain the permission of a provincial regulatory agency in Canada and other countries and practice in the fields of clinical nutrition, community nutrition and food service management; France's ability is an asset. If necessary, the course will complete some courses required by the license before the qualified year. Then there are three semesters of postgraduate courses and three semesters of stage courses, including a practice-oriented postgraduate course.
4. Doctor of Human Nutrition Research.
This degree in human nutrition is suitable for students with a master's degree. Degree in nutrition science or related field, hoping to become an independent researcher and/or leader in nutrition science field. 5. Postgraduate course, registered dietitian certificate (30 credits)
At McGill University's School of Human Nutrition, students who are pursuing doctoral degrees have the opportunity to apply for other courses after completing their doctoral degrees.
