When was the first film made in China?
1in the autumn of 905, China's first film, Dingjun Mountain, was shot by Tan Xinpei, a famous Peking Opera veteran and the king of music, in Fengtai Photo Studio, which is now located in Hepingmenwai Street, Beijing. This is the first time for China people to film. According to historical records, this film was made for Tan Xinpei's 50th birthday. In fact, in China in the late Qing Dynasty, Peking Opera, known as the national opera, had a great influence on social and cultural life and played a very important role in people's hearts. Fengtai photo studio, located in Liulichang area where cultural people gather, is closely related to celebrities in Liyuan and often takes pictures of them. The earliest group photos of several Peking Opera actors in Beijing history were taken by Fengtai Photo Studio. Therefore, when Ren Qingtai tried to shoot a film, he naturally chose to shoot this theme, whether from his personal preferences, his close relationship with Peking Opera actors, or the social fanaticism about Tan Xinpei, which is what we call the cultural market today. Dingjun Mountain is a traditional repertoire of Beijing Opera. During the Three Kingdoms period, Cao General Zhang Yan attacked Jia Mengguan, and veteran Huang Zhong begged Zhuge Liang to refuse the enemy. Zhuge Liang refused because of his age. Huang Zhong danced with knives and axes, broke his bow on the spot, killed Zhang Yan with an arrow, and seized the hill where the grain was distributed. Huang Zhongyu fought more and more bravely, wisely beheaded Cao Jun's general Xia, and finally captured Dingjun Mountain, an important town of Cao Jun. According to the characteristics of the film, the film Dingjun Mountain filmed three clips, namely, begging for work, dancing knives and fighting. About this shooting incident, there are more accurate eyewitness accounts in Mei Lanfang's narrative and the notes after Ji Xu's "Biography of Forty Years' Stage Life" (Part II), the third chapter's 18-month work summary "The First Scene of the Fifth Scene of the Red Chamber Opera-Daiyu Burying Flowers". This article claims that China plays movies. As far as I know, I'm afraid Dingjun Mountain in Tan Xinpei is the earliest. Not many people know about it. My old friend Mr. Wu Zhenxiu met them by chance and was filming. It can be said that he saw such a precious scene with historical significance. He told me like this:' At the end of Guangxu, I taught in the Teachers College of Shi Jing University. I always like to visit factories after school. ..... About one autumn, one day I strolled to Liulichang. After passing a square near Fengtai photo studio, I saw a piece of white cloth temporarily laid in the distance and someone was taking pictures. I went to the front and took a look. Where was the photo taken? This is an action movie. Moreover, Tan Xinpei, an old artist whom we admire most, is sitting in a yellow chair with a golden knife in his hand and playing with a broadsword in Dingjun Mountain. Standing by are Tan's family and relatives, not many people. The owner of the photo studio, a big guy, knows me very well, and he is busy taking care of everything. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures, so I forgot all about it at once. It's on at Daguanlou Cinema. This is probably the earliest scene in Beijing Opera. Mr. Mei () told me that he and Zhu co-produced the antithesis of Qingshishan, and Yu Zhenting photographed Baishui Beach and Leopard, both in Fengtai Photo Studio. Tan Xinpei's artistic path is also recorded by the same person in the seventh section of Xu Jichuan's Seventy Years' Experience and the Wax Drum Record of Tan Xinpei Film. Mr. Wu Zhenxiu told me, 1905 One day, I passed by Fengtai Photo Studio of Beijing Liulichang and saw someone filming. Look carefully, I am wearing a yellow shirt, with a white beard, holding a trunk knife and hitting Huang Zhong. Later, I saw this clip in the Daguanlou outside the front door, and I also saw the Qingshishan confrontation shot by Wu Sheng Jusheng Yu and Wu Danzhu. Jusheng Yu's son Yu Zhenting filmed the clips of White Water Beach and Leopard, which were shown in Daguanlou. During the filming, I also took stills for Mr. Tan Xinpei, and now I see the stills of the film Dingjun Mountain that was shot at that time. When Mr. Mei Lanfang mentioned the shooting of Peking Opera stills in the same book, he mentioned these stills of Dingjun Mountain. He said that these film negatives were long gone, but the photos of the old-timers he saw now were taken when he was filming. According to Tan Xiaozeng, great-grandson of Tan Xinpei, a famous Beijing Opera showdown martial artist, Tan Xinpei chose Dingjun Mountain as the venue for the opening ceremony when he performed in various places. The reason why this drama is Tan Pai's masterpiece is that another name of this drama is Success in World War I, which has a good moral.
