In Indo-European culture, women with a waist-hip ratio of 0.7 are the most attractive to men. Of course, this value is different for different nationalities. For example, China, South America and other places think that women with a waist-hip ratio of 0.6 are the most attractive, while Cameroonian and other places think that women with a waist-hip ratio of 0.8 are the most attractive.
There are also studies that male WHR≤0.95 is a low health risk, 0.96- 1 is a moderate health risk, and greater than 1 is a high health risk; Female WHR≤0.8 is low health risk, 0.8 1-0.85 is medium health risk, and greater than 0.85 is high health risk.
Measurement method of waist-hip ratio:
When the US Navy measures waist circumference, men choose the waist circumference at the navel (similar to the lower waist circumference) and women choose the thinnest waist circumference (natural waist circumference).
In most cases, it is more practical (convenient) to directly measure the thinnest part of the waist. When measuring waist circumference, stand upright with your feet together, relax your body, let your arms droop naturally, take off your clothes and measure when you exhale. The waist needs to be measured twice. If the twice error is less than 1cm, the waist circumference is averaged. If the second error is greater than 1 cm, re-measure.
