Asymptomatic infection in COVID-19
Asymptomatic infected people have two meanings: one is infected, and the other is asymptomatic.
First of all, people infected with COVID-19 virus, that is, COVID-19 virus, are positive for nucleic acid, which is contagious and needs isolation treatment.
Secondly, there are no symptoms, that is, there are no symptoms and signs that can be self-perceived or clinically recognized, such as fever, dry cough, fatigue, sore throat, hypoesthesia, diarrhea, etc., and CT images have no COVID-19 imaging characteristics, so they cannot be diagnosed as "confirmed cases" according to the current situation. However, some asymptomatic infected people may develop into symptomatic confirmed cases, but they are only in the incubation period. However, some asymptomatic infected people were given antiviral treatment under the action of their own immunity or after being found in time. No clinical symptoms appeared and the virus was eliminated.
In addition, a few cases are asymptomatic in the recovery period, that is to say, the clinical symptoms disappear completely, and other tests are basically normal, but the virus nucleic acid test can still be positive for some time.
Experts pointed out that asymptomatic infected people are contagious, but there are no respiratory symptoms such as cough, expectoration and sneezing, and fewer droplets are discharged, which is less contagious.
Confirmed cases in COVID-19
Refers to COVID-19 infection, positive for virology, with clinical symptoms or abnormal blood and imaging examination.
Focus: the difference between asymptomatic infected people and confirmed cases
An asymptomatic infected person will be diagnosed as a confirmed case if his nucleic acid test is positive and he has symptoms, or if he has symptoms such as cough, fever and fatigue after a period of observation. The infected person has no clinical symptoms, but the lung CT examination has lesions, which can also be diagnosed as a confirmed case.
Asymptomatic infected persons should undergo blood routine examination, CT imaging examination and antibody detection during centralized isolation medical observation. If there are related symptoms or signs in the follow-up and meet the diagnostic criteria of confirmed cases, they should be corrected as confirmed cases within 24 hours.
The so-called confirmed cases have clear diagnostic criteria according to the diagnosis and treatment plan, that is, virology is positive, there are clinical symptoms or abnormal blood routine and imaging examination. Their clinical severity includes four types: mild, ordinary, severe and critical.
