How to write a good file of children's growth

The following is taken from China Kindergarten Teachers Network (1). Plan the content of the growth document in advance.

Planning the growth file in advance can ensure that the information we collect can fully and accurately reflect the development process of children, avoid missing or one-sided information, and will not rush to supplement information in order to fill the growth file at the end of the term. Before making a file of children's growth, we will make a plan according to the educational objectives, and consider what activities information can be collected before and after this semester, how to cover all fields in a balanced way, which contents can accurately reflect children's development, when and how to collect information, and so on. For example, in the last semester of the big class, we will plan the content of the growth file according to the preset theme activities in the semester plan: in the theme activities of "leaves", we will pay attention to the artistic works created by children using the collected leaves; Pay attention to children's discovery and understanding at different stages in the theme activities of "planting", and record children's scientific inquiry behavior with continuous photos and words; Pay attention to children's cognition of themselves and others in the theme activities of "Special Me". Of course, we can't be completely limited by the plan and ignore the valuable information in teaching activities or daily life. So we always have a camera and a pad at hand, and we can record the performance of our children with photos and short words at any time. For example, in the "Leaves" theme activity, appreciating the poem "Autumn River" aroused children's rich associations, and we immediately recorded the interesting poems created by children with a pad. Collecting meaningful information at any time under the premise of planning in advance can enable us to obtain information reflecting the development process of young children in time and comprehensively, and avoid blind filling and surprise completion.

2. Growth cases should reflect comprehensiveness and development.

When making a growth file, we should pay attention to comprehensiveness, not only involving all fields, but also paying attention to the development of children's personality, emotion and attitude. The data collected should be typical. Can highlight the development of young children. For example, it can include personal information, anecdotes, nursery rhymes, behavior records and the development evaluation of key abilities at this stage (such as the number of rackets and self-service ability). When formulating the content of development evaluation, we should pay attention to presenting the data of different stages, reflecting the development process of children, and guiding parents to find the progress of children in vertical comparison.

Young children are developing individuals, and we pay special attention to treating young children from a developmental perspective. If the child is outstanding in some way. We will systematically observe and record his behavior around this aspect at one stage. Present its development process in the growth file. We will also analyze the problems explained by a child's behavior or a work, the reasons behind it, and the possibility of the child's future development in the growth file. Sometimes children need the teacher's affirmation or encouragement. We will also pass it on to the children at an appropriate time. For example, we divide the process of skipping in large classes into several stages, and each stage shows the development process of children with photos and data. Present it in the growth file, with your child's learning experience or our comments. There is a child who can't learn at first, so he practices every day. Two weeks later, he made great progress and won the first place in his class. He said: "At first, I always couldn't jump, so I learned it by practicing every day." We are deeply moved by this. So I wrote an encouraging sentence: "Your progress is inseparable from your own efforts. I hope you will stick to it no matter what difficulties you encounter, just like learning to jump rope! " Such records not only let children feel the progress and successful experience brought by their own efforts, but also let us know that children have their own learning methods and learning speed, and let us realize that we should pay more attention to children's performance and needs in the learning process.

3. Growth files should highlight the individual differences of children.

Every child's growth file is unique, which is a record of the child's individual growth process and the wealth of the child's life. Therefore, it is necessary to highlight the individual differences of children when making growth files.

First of all, when sorting out personal information and other personalized materials, we will invite parents to work with their children in the park to make the growth file more personalized in content, layout and expression.

Secondly, we will capture children's movements, eyes and expressions. Use a camera during the activity, don't ignore the details such as the environment of the activity room, try not to disturb the children, and let the photos show the real activities, reflecting the state of the local children at that time: they may have encountered problems, may have found something, or may be exploring ways to solve problems, thus showing the children's different performances. We will also add a simple explanation to the photos of children's works or activities. If only works or photos are presented, information such as what the child said and the background of the event cannot be reflected, and people who don't know the situation often can't get accurate information from it. So we recorded the children's language and behavior at that time according to the content of the activity and the different performances of the children. For example, in the "planting" theme activity, some children found that the seedlings grown in their flowerpots were different from morning glory. They carefully compared and guessed with a magnifying glass, so we photographed the children's concentration on exploration, and attached the children's language at that time: "Is my seedling different from that of morning glory?" It's a little high, dark green and long. What happened? "With the help of these photos and words, we can vividly reproduce the scene at that time.

Thirdly, we make some personalized records for each child, which can be children's anecdotes, children's words with unique characteristics, or personal observation records. When recording, pay attention to truthfully describe the child's behavior and avoid subjective judgment; In the analysis, we strive to find the theoretical basis, deeply analyze the reasons behind the behavior, and find the appropriate educational methods. For example, a child in our class has a strong sense of self-centeredness and sometimes conflicts with his peers. One day, he got up from a nap, and his companion accidentally met him while he was dressing, so he punched his companion. We helped him analyze the cause of the incident and made him realize that his companion was harmless, but his behavior hurt his companion. Afterwards, we recorded the incident in the growth file and made a comment: "Children of this age judge right and wrong according to the consequences of behavior rather than subjective motives. The main reason is that children's cognitive ability is limited, and they only pay attention to their own feelings without considering other people's ideas. In such an event, adults should neither arbitrarily judge the right or wrong behavior of children, nor take it lightly. Adults can help children understand and understand the feelings of others, learn to judge right and wrong, and gradually learn to understand others, so that they can adopt a more positive solution when they encounter similar problems in the future. "

4. Making growth files needs to give consideration to both beauty and interest.

Children have an innate aesthetic demand, and the growth file is worth cherishing all their lives, so it should be as beautiful and interesting as possible. For example, making exquisite insert bags with colored paper and inserting children's paintings into them after folding not only ensures the integrity of the works, but also does not affect the collection and sorting because the paper is too large; Another example is to fold children's large-scale works into simple figures such as triangles and trapezoid and paste them on the file bag, which can be opened at any time when enjoying, and the background pattern is full of childlike interest. In the layout, pay attention to the coordination of photos, patterns and words. The words can be decorated with borders such as flowers and clouds to highlight the content and make the picture look lively. After paying attention to these details, we find that children prefer their growth files, and believe that such growth files will leave good memories for children.
