Advantages and disadvantages of foreskin operation

The advantages of circumcision are beautiful appearance, reducing the probability of foreskin infection and improving sexual life. Disadvantages are postoperative recovery pain, incision infection, scars and so on.

Benefits of circumcision: Circumcision is generally aimed at cases of excessive prepuce or phimosis. The harm of long foreskin and phimosis affects penis development, the foreskin is susceptible to infection, the glans penis is too sensitive, and the sexual life time is short, which affects the health of partners and increases the probability of getting foreskin cancer. Therefore, if there are men with long foreskin or phimosis, it is generally recommended to surgically remove the foreskin at school age. After the redundant foreskin is removed, the penis is closer to the natural physiological state and has a more beautiful appearance. Without the redundant foreskin, the probability of foreskin infection is obviously reduced, and the glans penis can also be stimulated by the outside world, reducing sensitivity, increasing sexual life time, and the probability of foreskin cancer is also obviously reduced.

The disadvantage of circumcision may be accompanied by incision pain or edema in the recovery period after circumcision, because there are many nerves and blood vessels in this part, the pain will be more intense and edema will often occur. In addition, improper nursing or irregular dressing change will lead to incision infection, which will seriously lead to incision suppuration and cracking. Scar will be formed at the incision after operation. Most of the wounds healed in Grade A are not obvious, but if there is wound infection in the recovery period, the scar will be relatively obvious.
