The scenic spot is located in Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, the only Qiang Autonomous County in China, Dayu's hometown. It is only 58km away from Mianyang City, a science and technology city in China, about 3 hours' drive from Chengdu and 4 hours' drive from Jiuzhai. The tourist link from Chengdu to Jiuzhai passes through the gate of the scenic spot.

Jiuhuangshan Scenic Area belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, with obvious three-dimensional mountain climate, warm in winter and cool in summer, cool temperature, humid rainfall and distinct four seasons. From June 5438+1October 65438+September 2006 to June 5438+1October 23, 2006, the fifth national symposium on meteorological environment and health was held in the scenic spot.
