1. Chronic diseases cannot be prevented: Some people think that chronic diseases can be prevented by cutting off the route of transmission or vaccination, unlike infectious diseases, so there seems to be nothing to do. In fact, it is entirely possible. The research on the inducing factors and risk factors of many chronic diseases has been deepened. As long as these inducing factors are well controlled, more than 80% of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes can be avoided, and more than 40% of cancers can also be prevented.
Second, chronic diseases mainly affect high-income countries: chronic diseases are mainly cardiovascular diseases, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes, especially cardiovascular diseases and metabolic diseases, which used to be called "rich diseases". It seems that only high-income developed countries are caused by high-fat diets and inactive lifestyles. But in fact, 80% of deaths from chronic diseases occur in developing countries.
Third, people with good economic conditions get chronic diseases: According to the statistics of the World Health Organization, poor people with poor economic conditions in most areas are more likely to get chronic diseases than the rich, and the heavy economic burden of chronic diseases will push individuals and families into poverty.
4. The prevention and control of chronic diseases is very expensive: since two-thirds of the mortality rate is concentrated in low-and middle-income countries, the prevention and control of chronic diseases seems expensive, but WHO believes that many methods for the prevention and control of chronic diseases are not expensive.
Chronic diseases mainly affect the elderly: the so-called "geriatric diseases" have become a global trend, especially in China. Globally, half of those who died of chronic diseases were under 70 years old, while more than 25% of those who died of chronic diseases were under 60 years old. With the rapid growth of obese young people, the younger age of smoking, the failure of smoking control, air pollution, serious lack of exercise and other factors, the risk of chronic diseases among young people is increasing, and the incidence of heart disease and diabetes among young people is indeed increasing year by year.
6. Chronic diseases mainly affect men: in fact, almost all chronic diseases have the same harm to men and women, but the incidence of some diseases will be different due to the influence of individual behavior factors.
Seven, suffering from chronic diseases is due to the patient's own unhealthy lifestyle: many people think that if the lifestyle is unhealthy and suffering from chronic diseases, they should blame the patient themselves, but this is actually unfair. The World Health Organization believes that only when a person has a fair chance to get a healthy lifestyle and has enough support to make a healthy choice can the individual take full responsibility for his actions. People with low economic income often don't have many choices, especially in terms of diet, living conditions, education and medical care, especially children, who usually face "no choice". They can't choose their living environment and diet, and they can't even choose whether to smoke passively. Of course, many people don't understand the long-term consequences of their actions.
Finally, I hope everyone can live a healthy lifestyle as much as possible, because this is the most effective way to prevent and control chronic diseases.
