The process of population aging in China is accelerating day by day, and the social problems brought about by the increase of aging population are also attracting people's attention. At present, people pay more attention to the physical health of the elderly and seldom pay attention to their psychological problems. 2 1 century's health problems are more manifested in people's mental health. As far as the current situation in China is concerned, mental illness is on the rise. With the rapid development of economy, the pace of people's life is accelerating, which makes many elderly people feel overwhelmed, which has become a key factor causing mental health problems of the elderly. Some elderly people have retired or lost their jobs because of their reduced ability to work, and their living standards are not as good as before. Therefore, they are extremely unbalanced, irritable and irritable, complaining about the unfairness of the government and society, and in serious cases, they will cause harm to relatives and friends around them. There are also some elderly people who are neglected because their children are busy with work and lack care, especially spiritual comfort. Because living in a high-rise residential area or lacking entertainment places, it is easy to feel lonely and depressed. How to make the elderly spend their old age with value and quality, make them live a healthy life, and at the same time increase their happiness is a major issue facing the whole society in the new century.
The China Committee on Aging, the China Gerontology Society, and the Department of Medical Administration of the Ministry of Health of China held a national seminar on medical care for the elderly in Beijing. At the meeting, Professor Wu Cangping, a Chinese demographer, gerontologist and president of China Gerontology Society, gave a keynote speech on "Scientific Connotation and Social Significance of Healthy Aging". Healthy aging is not only reflected in the length of life, but more importantly, the improvement of quality of life. The quality of healthy life of the elderly population is objective and quantifiable. The mental health standards of the elderly include five aspects: first, a sound personality; Second, good social adaptability; Third, stabilize the mood; Fourth, harmonious interpersonal relationship; Fifth, basically normal cognitive function.
