How many grades are there for the evaluation of the elderly's self-care ability?

The assessment level of self-care ability of the elderly is divided into 5 levels.

1, extremely dependent on (the highest) self-care ability, needs help from others to complete all daily activities.

2. You can complete most of your daily activities independently by relying entirely (at a high level), but you still need help from others in some aspects.

3. Partial dependence (medium level) can basically complete daily activities independently, but it will be difficult in complex activities.

4, light dependence (low level) can basically complete daily activities independently, but sometimes need help from others.

5. Independence (the lowest level) can independently complete all daily activities.

Considering that there is no relevant research in China to predict the risk of impaired self-care ability of the elderly, the above research uses the follow-up data of health influencing factors of the elderly in China, and finds that there are 9 factors related to the self-care ability of the elderly.

Including age, sex, nationality, body mass index (weight (kg)- square of height (m)), hypertension, cerebrovascular disease, exercise speed, taking public transport alone and doing housework. Based on this, the researcher constructed a simple prediction tool suitable for the elderly aged 65 and above in China to predict the risk of impaired self-care ability in six years.

It was found that the proportion of body mass index, hypertension and history of cerebrovascular disease in the group with impaired self-care ability was higher than that in the normal group. Age is the biggest factor affecting the damage of self-care ability, and the risk of damage in women is higher than that in men.

The risk of damage to ethnic minorities is very low. In addition, elderly people who can walk continuously 1 km, often take public transport alone and often do housework have a lower risk of impaired self-care ability.

The damage of self-care ability is mainly related to three types of factors:

First, demographic characteristics, such as age, gender, race, place of residence, education level, etc. These factors have an objective influence on self-care ability, and most of them cannot be changed.

Second, various basic diseases, especially cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. For example, stroke may lead to motor and language dysfunction such as hemiplegia and aphasia; Gout can cause all kinds of arthritis and affect motor function.

Alzheimer's disease can cause cognitive impairment and affect neurological function; Osteoporosis and sarcopenia will affect motor function, increase the probability of falls in the elderly, and then lead to paralysis and affect mobility; Cancer may lead to various organ failures and affect body functions.

The third is lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise and emotion. A study of 6,543,800 people in Harvard University found that after 50 years old, if people don't smoke or drink, they should keep exercising for 30 minutes every day to ensure a balanced diet and keep their weight within a reasonable range.

Then the expected healthy life expectancy of women can reach 84.4 years, and that of men can reach 8 1. 1 year; On the other hand, without these five healthy habits, the expected healthy life expectancy of women is only 73.7 years, while that of men is only 73.5 years.
