Scoliosis has become the third major disease that harms the health of adolescents. Does your child have this phenomenon?

Scoliosis has become the third major disease that harms the health of teenagers, and this phenomenon exists. "0~ 10 years old and adolescence are the two fastest developing stages of children, and they are also the fastest developing periods of scoliosis. Especially for girls, if effective intervention and prevention are not carried out at this time, they will miss the opportunity and develop into serious deformities, which will have a lifelong impact on children. " Recently, Liu Haiying, chief physician of Peking University People's Hospital, stressed in an online interview organized by the National Health Planning Commission.

The incidence of scoliosis in China is 2%~3%, which mostly occurs after puberty (10 years old). In recent years, the concept of "premature scoliosis" (0~ 10 crane) was put forward. Scoliosis has become the third biggest killer of children and adolescents in China after obesity and myopia. Since 20 19, the National Health and Family Planning Commission has taken abnormal curvature of spine as the detection index in the monitoring of common diseases and health influencing factors of students nationwide, covering more than 400 prefecture-level cities and more than 2 million students.

Liu Haiying introduced that the harm of scoliosis to children and adolescents is reflected in two aspects: on the one hand, it seriously affects aesthetics, and children will have psychological and mental problems; On the other hand, it will damage the child's nervous system and even compress the spinal cord, resulting in inability to walk and abnormal cardiopulmonary function, thus affecting life expectancy. He reminded that in life, parents should pay attention to their children's posture (shoulders, chest, back and waistline) in time, or let their children bend over to see if they are high on one side and low on the other. If anything goes wrong, please go to the hospital in time.

Observe the "four horizontal and one vertical"+flexion test to find scoliosis in children as soon as possible. Liu Haiying pointed out that scoliosis can be divided into congenital and postpartum. Congenital scoliosis, that is, because pregnant women have a history of adverse drug use, mental illness or environmental influence during pregnancy, may affect the physiological structure of fetal spine during embryonic development, leading to spinal deformity. Acquired scoliosis is caused by uneven muscle tension, malnutrition, trauma or posture. The most common is idiopathic scoliosis of unknown cause.

In recent years, the number of primary and secondary school students who come to the hospital for scoliosis has increased. Most of them are parents, and they find that their children are wearing less clothes, their shoulders are obviously uneven, and their backs are uneven. After going to the hospital for examination, he was diagnosed as scoliosis. However, many patients find that the lateral curvature is already "S" shape, or the lateral curvature has reached more than 40 degrees. They are too old to be treated conservatively. Some people are forced to have surgery, which does great harm to children.
