Why do Buddhists worship Buddha? Is it the Buddha that needs us to worship? Still need to worship Buddha?
Buddha is the awakened one. He is a man who knows everything. He learned countless things about Qian Qian in the universe, all kinds of similar and dissimilar, the same and different life forms. Because the Buddha knows their habits of life, body and mind like the back of his hand, he can make all sentient beings happy from pain, as long as they are willing to learn and do as he says.
Secondly, the Buddha also fully understands the ins and outs of all life forms in the universe. I also know how to switch between life and death. How to turn? Therefore, he can help all living beings to change from various life forms to another life form they hope, so that they can live in an ideal situation.
Again, the Buddha can prove everything, including flowers, trees, mountains, rivers, and even the planet and universe. Everything that has no feelings, no pain, and no thinking ability is called heartless sentient beings. How did they form a bad void? All Buddhas know everything.
As for the relationship between heartless beings and sentient beings, whether it is subtle or huge, direct or indirect, which comes first, and interdependence and interaction, he is well aware.
Buddha is one of the sentient beings, and it takes repeated practice to become a Buddha. Buddha has three basic conditions:
First, he can truly understand the equality of all beings, so he has confidence in himself, but he has no sense of superiority.
Secondly, I have made great achievements, so I can understand all the truths of the universe. He has to go through the study, practice and verification of the three great monks. "Robbery" is the unit for local people to calculate time in the Buddha era; A monk only grabs ten followed by fifty zeros, and it takes such a long time to study, practice and prove that he can turn from all beings to Buddhism.
The Buddha has achieved great things, but he will never cling to what he has achieved. When the karma is sufficient, you can still give up your merits. Therefore, the Buddhism is clear, giving up the Buddha's position and returning to the Bodhisattva's position to protect the Buddha and achieve the Western Heaven.
Third, he will do what he should do, but he has no desire to dominate. He doesn't expect others to obey, but everything he does is in my hands and tries his best to achieve others.
Since Buddha has no sense of superiority, we certainly don't need to worship him. So, why do we Buddhists worship Buddha? Is worshipping Buddha a sport? If so, let's have a look. What is the purpose of exercise in our daily life? Probably nothing more than for physical and mental health! So how to exercise? The so-called exercise is to exercise our body, limbs, internal organs and even any part of our body in various ways, so that it can help us get rid of diseases and achieve physical and mental peace. This is the ultimate goal of exercise.
However, if we observe carefully, we will find that many sports can't benefit us a lot, because these sports themselves don't have perfect, convenient and safe conditions. For example, although swimming is a good exercise, people with poor skin function and insufficient resistance to moisture, bacteria, viruses and pollen in the air can easily get rheumatic arthritis, conjunctivitis, upper respiratory tract infection, colds, otitis media, sore throat and other diseases when swimming. If women are in the physiological period, if they enter the water and have low heat energy in their lower bodies, they will easily get gynecological inflammation, so swimming has these shortcomings, so we must pay attention to it.
Jogging was once popular because it was convenient. Wear sneakers, ordinary sneakers and even slippers as long as you can run; But it is not suitable for people who have fallen, had car accidents, sprains, postpartum disorders or weak spinal congenital structure.
Jogging can usually make our heart healthier. If we run and breathe correctly, our heart and lungs will benefit. Our spine is naturally sandwiched between joints with a cushion, so that the spine can absorb shock. If these structures are not good, jogging is easy to form spinal spurs; People who have sprained their joints are prone to arthritis; Women who are prolific and lack nursed back to health are weak and have insufficient energy in the lower body. If they jog, it is easy to form uterine prolapse; People with hernia are prone to defecation, and some people even have drooping anus, especially in aerobic dance.
Now all kinds of sports are carried out, hoping that everyone can get physical and mental health, so there is the Olympic World Games. Its purpose was originally very good, but in order to be competitive, the contestants gradually became qualitative and commercialized. To make matters worse, some contestants took drugs intentionally or unintentionally to promote excitement, and finally hurt themselves. Therefore, we have promoted sports for so many years, and a discipline-Sports Injury Department has been added to the regular medical system.
Everyone knows that exercise must have muscles, and you can't exercise without muscles. Where are the muscles of the body? There are muscles in the face, neck, limbs, abdomen and back. There are strong muscles in internal organs, such as the heart; There are muscles in the gastrointestinal tract, uterus and bladder, but they are not controlled by us, so they are called "involuntary muscles". There are no muscles in the lungs, kidneys and liver.
As we said just now, exercise is to move our bodies in various ways, make our hearts move and our stomachs move. But some internal organs can't move because they have no muscles. Another important place is the brain, which also has no muscles. How on earth can our sports move to these places? Swimming, aerobic dance and jogging are all indirect sports. To achieve the best effect of exercise, we must move to those motionless places. Therefore, the indirect exercise mentioned above is not a good method.
So what are the benefits of worshipping Buddha? Just now I talked about involuntary muscles in internal organs, which are not controlled by your will, so they are called involuntary muscles. Fortunately, we still have two groups of muscles that are voluntary, but which two groups are they? Diaphragm and psoas major. Above the diaphragm are the lungs and heart, and below are the gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, liver, kidney, bladder, uterus, ovary and small intestine. There are also two very thick and strong muscles, called psoas major, located in the middle of the spine and behind the diaphragm. They stick to the spine and walk obliquely until they reach the middle of the pelvis.
Viewed from the side, the diaphragm is like cutting our body into upper and lower halves, and the psoas muscle passes through our body obliquely from the lower half. If these two groups of muscles can move, it will be quite ideal, because when the diaphragm moves up and down, it can massage our lungs. Why is the diaphragm moving up and down so important to our lungs? Because from the trachea down to the heart socket, there is an acupoint called Shanzhong in Chinese medicine. Qi sinks into sandalwood, because it divides into two bronchi from here and runs to the lungs. When we breathe, gas comes in and out through the common bronchi.
Women speak softly and breathe softly. Generally speaking, they only breathe in the middle of the lungs, so there are exhaust gases above and below the lungs, but most of them change here; So some people joked that this is why women are more "cheap". That's true, because this way only changes one-third of the gas.
If the diaphragm moves properly, it can help one-third of the exhaust gas and dirty gas under the lungs to be discharged. Oxygen can reach the lower third of the lungs. If the diaphragm moves up and down with enough activity, even the upper third of the lungs can breathe. So the diaphragm is very important for the lungs. It rises and falls properly, which is called abdominal breathing. The up-and-down movement of the diaphragm can also massage the heart, liver (because the liver is under it), stomach, pancreas and spleen.
What about the uterus, ovary, bladder, small intestine and large intestine below? That depends on the lumbar muscle major. The psoas major is connected to the spine, just behind the renal artery. When we hold our hands tightly, our muscles will swell, showing their elasticity and hardness. This is called muscle contraction. For example, squeeze the rubber hose hard to make its outlet smaller, and then water will be sprayed out. So the movement of psoas major means that psoas major is contracting, because there are viscera in front of it. At this time, it will tighten when it moves, so the arteries and veins of the kidney seem to be caught. A loose and tight form an action, a clip and a release, so that blood will rush in and out, and the kidneys seem to be washed. Along the way, there are many blood vessels next to this muscle, which extend to the internal organs and intestines respectively.
Because psoas major muscle extends obliquely to the front of pelvis, it is very long, so it is generally divided into two parts. The upper part is different from the lower part. When the lower body exercises, you can massage it and let the blood wash away the uterus, ovaries, bladder, large intestine, prostate and so on. So the movement of diaphragm and psoas muscle is so important!
So, how do we make the diaphragm and psoas move? Is to worship Buddha. When worshipping Buddha, the first action is to lean forward. At this time, the upper body and lower body form 90 degrees, and the head is horizontal, neither drooping nor leaning back. Body form's posture, the lower part of the psoas contracts, then it will pull the diaphragm down, then cooperate with the rectus abdominis in front of the body, relax the back muscles, and people bow at 90 degrees. At this time, the diaphragm moves and the psoas moves, and they kneel down and fall to the ground to get up again, mainly to exercise the upper part of the psoas.
How can you relax the upper part of psoas major muscle? At this time, you must use your big toe and use it to stand on tiptoe to raise your hips, so that the upper part of the psoas major muscle contracts and you can lift your lower body.
Buddha worship contains profound truth, so we must pay attention to the details and need some guidance. When lying prone, if the soles of your feet are at 90 degrees to the ground, this posture can't achieve the above effect. The correct posture should be that the instep is close to the ground: when you stand up, stand on tiptoe with your big toe, raise your hips (you can't retreat), and then stand up.
If we worship Buddha and stand on tiptoe, we can't achieve the purpose of exercise. In order to avoid this problem, it is best to wear sea blue when worshipping Buddha. Why are you wearing navy blue? Because Christina is very long, when you want to stand up after worship, if you take a step back, your heel will step on Christina's backswing, and then you will know that your method is wrong.
Therefore, we should know how to use the strength of the toes and the upper part of the psoas muscle to raise the buttocks and let the internal organs move. This is a direct exercise, not an indirect exercise.
It is "get twice the result with half the effort" to exercise the internal organs indirectly only through the activities of body surface muscles; The method of directly exercising internal organs is "get twice the result with half the effort", both of which can promote health.
Let's talk about how to exercise the brain. Because the brain has no muscles, it is loose and soft, like tender tofu. Can we make it move? It is a very important part of our life and intelligence, so there is a skull to protect it and wrap it tightly. Playing video games and crossword puzzles, do you think this is a sports brain? This is using the brain, not exercising the brain. The so-called exercise is to make the brain move. This is called exercise. How do you exercise? If a bucket of water can't touch it directly, how can we make it move? Shake or rotate the bucket to make the water in the bucket turbulent; If you want the water in the bucket to move very evenly, tap the edge of the bucket with a wooden stick, and it will form a vibrating concentric circle. Since it is concentric circles, it means that the amount of exercise inside is very uniform. But none of these methods can be used to exercise the brain, because it is easy to cause dizziness.
There is a small organ in the brain-endocrine gland, which is particularly important to human beings and is called pituitary gland. It has something to do with our immune system. When you are young, it also affects your height and figure. He is the commander-in-chief of endocrinology, including thyroid and adrenal glands, all under his command. The most wonderful thing is that the pituitary gland is the alarm clock of our life. It wakes us up, because it is in charge of the immune system and endocrine, just like a country's national defense and economic leaders. So the function of thyroid and adrenal gland is controlled by it.
The most wonderful thing is that the pituitary gland is the alarm clock of our life and will give us some reminders. Scientists have studied why people's bodies tend to decline rapidly in the last two years before the end of their lives, resulting in many diseases. The reason is that pituitary dysfunction at this time. So the pituitary gland at this time is simply a death warrant. If the blood circulation in the pituitary gland is not good, we will die earlier. So how to exercise the pituitary gland is very important. But we can't be asked to hit the wall! That's why Buddhism teaches us to throw ourselves underground.
What's the difference between throwing yourself on the ground and hitting your head against the wall or hitting the floor with your head? Of course not. I remember playing kites when I was a child. The children pulled the rope and put them high and far away. As long as you pull it gently on the ground, the kite on it will turn around and be very active. The meridians of the human body are like the thread of a kite. Each of our fingers and toes has different meridians. From the perspective of modern medicine, meridians are human energy fields with different frequencies.
In ancient times, why did you say that ten fingers were connected to one heart? Because each finger has meridians, it goes straight to the head through the limbs, so it is called ten fingers connected to the heart. When we move our fingers, we can move to different centers of the brain. Through their respective meridians, they have different functional exercise effects on different ranges and depths in the brain.
After thousands of years of human experiments, we know that the ventral surface of thumb and big toe is the reaction area of our pituitary gland, so when we worship Buddha, the toes are high and the body is propped up, which can stimulate the pituitary gland. If you have been to the Panama Canal in South America, you will know that sailing on the Panama Canal cannot go directly from one end to the other. It must be divided into three parts. After the first section, close the gate to raise the water level, and then open the gate to the second station. After the second stop, close the gate again and raise the water level, so that you can pass through the whole process.
Our pituitary gland is difficult to touch directly, and it is protected by a thick skull, so it should be stimulated through meridians. Just like a child, he manipulated the kite through the thread in his hand. So, when you worship Buddha, you bow down. First, the big toe receives the information that the nerve under the skin is under pressure and transmits it to the pituitary gland. Then, bend over, land on your head, and flip your hands. When you get up, hold up your upper body with the power of your fingertips. After the completion of these three stages of action, it is like passing through the three doors of the Panama Canal.
Why is there such an experience? Some people have a headache for many years, and taking medicine has no effect. Ask him where it hurts. He said that sometimes it hurts here, sometimes it hurts there, sometimes it hurts there, sometimes it hurts on the top of the head, sometimes it hurts in front, sometimes it hurts behind, sometimes it hurts less than there, and sometimes it hurts like pain. In this case, there may be problems around the blood vessels near the pituitary gland. If the place is congested and the blood circulation is not good, the pain will be difficult to treat. If it is cerebral hemorrhage, stroke or blood vessel rupture, it will be in big trouble, because deep in the brain, like an underground ditch, you can't touch it, which is very troublesome. If the karma is sufficient, if you meet a clever acupuncturist, he will probably bleed or prick the needle in the pituitary acupoint reaction area of the big toe, which will soon cure the headache. Put a few drops of blood, and your head won't hurt, so "hitting the nail on the head" is described as immediate. It's just that it's really difficult for doctors to treat diseases quickly and painlessly. Medicine should be like chocolate candy.
If the effect is not obvious enough, you may need to use your thumb. If it is more serious, you should put the needle in the center of your eyebrows (Tang Yin). (This is the geometric projection area of the pituitary gland, so it is probably not a problem to have a headache when three needles are combined. )
