Do cooks have to wait for a health certificate before they can take up their posts?

According to the Food Hygiene Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), Regulations on the Administration of Public Places and Administrative Measures for Preventive Health Examination, all personnel engaged in food hygiene, public place hygiene, drinking water hygiene, cosmetics and protection of harmful biological products must undergo a health examination once a year, pass the health examination, receive health knowledge training and hold a health certificate before taking up their posts.
