Four areas of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation

1. Health and sanitation: The level of medical care and health of the poor population is generally low. Medical services in poverty-stricken areas are insufficient and the level of medical security is low. In remote mountainous areas, many children grow up in a single diet and lack of nutrition, which not only endangers their normal growth and development, but also makes it difficult to improve their academic performance. The health protection of the poor population is one of the focuses of attention from all walks of life and even the whole world.

In 2000 and 2008, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation successively launched the "Mother-child Safety 120 Action Plan" and "Feeding with Love". Through measures such as helping poor mothers and children and paying attention to children's health and nutrition, the hospital delivery rate of pregnant women was improved and the maternal mortality rate was reduced. Improve the living security level and health level of poor mothers and babies; Improve the nutritional status and growth of children in poor mountainous areas, and reduce the malnutrition rate and anemia rate of children; Improve the health level of the population in poor areas.

2. Education and growth: Due to the harsh natural environment and remote geographical location, the economic development in remote areas of China is slow, and many rural primary school dormitories are in disrepair, which not only has potential safety hazards, but also cannot meet the accommodation needs of students. In recent years, the plan of merging schools has aggravated the difficulty of students' accommodation in poor areas; Students in poverty-stricken areas lack school supplies; Poor high school students and poor college students face difficulties in their daily living expenses.

To this end, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation has launched projects such as nesting action, love package, and new Great Wall aid, and is committed to promoting the all-round development of rural students in poverty-stricken areas and improving their living conditions. By building student dormitories and libraries for rural primary schools in poverty-stricken areas, distributing love packages, organizing teacher training in music, sports and beauty, and volunteering, we will help poor high school students and poor college students solve the problem of students' accommodation in poverty-stricken areas, improve the teaching status and learning conditions in music, sports and beauty in rural primary schools in poverty-stricken areas, help poor high school students and poor college students complete their studies, and send care to poor students.

3. Community and livelihood: The poor and vulnerable people living in poverty, regardless of age, are at a disadvantage in market competition due to lack of financial support, small production scale or inconvenient transportation, and their quality of life is slowly improving. In order to give poor areas and poor people more opportunities to benefit from market economic activities, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation strives to improve the basic production and living conditions in poor areas and help poor farmers change their business models.

4. Disaster relief: China is a country with frequent natural disasters, and poverty caused by disasters and returning to poverty due to disasters are also one of the reasons for poverty. In 2003, China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation began to implement emergency rescue projects to alleviate the pain and anxiety of compatriots in poverty-stricken areas and improve the timeliness and pertinence of disaster response; Advocate and promote the cooperation between the government and non-governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations in the field of disaster relief, build a humanitarian relief network, carry out disaster reduction and prevention training, and strengthen the capacity building and network construction of relevant parties. In 20 14, our emergency rescue project started disaster management in various fields, including disaster reduction, disaster preparedness, disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction.
