Since the 29 th year of the Republic of China, he has cooperated with Hou, presented gifts to Hou, and performed on the same stage in Henan Opera Garden for the first time, which was a blockbuster. It also expanded its influence through radio broadcasting and became famous at one fell swoop, becoming one of the five famous cross talks at that time. At that time, he often performed dramas, selling cloth heads, going to court, changing careers and other plays. It was praised as "civilized crosstalk" by Tianjin intellectuals. After he and Hou returned to Beijing from Tianjin, they performed in Xidan Club, Shanghai Club and Phoenix Hall, with good seats.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he joined the Beijing Crosstalk Improvement Group on 1950, devoted himself to the innovation of cross talk, and taught and trained young cross talk actors. 195 1 participated in the first condolence group to North Korea in, and wrote and performed new cross talks such as Portrait of Truman and Dog Legs on the North Korean Front. From 1952, he joined the Beijing Quyi Third Troupe, 1954 went to Tibet to give a condolence performance with the delegation of the China People's Liberation Army, and 1955 was transferred to the Central Radio and Rap Troupe. During more than ten years of working in a radio rap group, he and Hou worked together to perform many new cross talks that reflected real life, such as Nightwalk, Prelude to Divorce, Chopping Cabbage, Skillful Hands Becoming Trouble, Percentage of Beaten, Service Attitude, Buy a Monkey, A Record of the American Chiang Kai-shek, Drunk, etc. At the same time, a number of old traditional programs, such as The Battle between Guan Gong and Qin Qiong, Changing careers, Miscellaneous Notes on Traditional Opera Dialects, Empty City Plan, Selling Cloth Head, Bangbanggu, Yin Yang and Five Elements, have been rearranged and processed, and become well-known masterpieces. Among them, Guan Gong vs. Qin Qiong was highly praised by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi and other party and state leaders and became a masterpiece handed down from generation to generation. He and Hou also participated in the filming of Princess Pearl and Dream Garden, and played a series of roles. Most of their crosstalk was recorded on China National Radio.
