When a small one is put into a glass of water, bubbles will appear soon, which is sweet and sour, and the taste is very attractive. Not only looks good and smells good, but also tastes as delicious as soda.
This is many people's understanding of effervescent tablets. But in fact, effervescent tablets are really not as simple as "throwing them into the water and drinking them later".
The most familiar
Vitamin c effervescent tablets
Hospitals and pharmacies have many kinds of effervescent tablets. Such as aspirin effervescent tablets, ibuprofen effervescent tablets, acetaminophen effervescent tablets, Chinese patent medicine Jinlian Qingre effervescent tablets, Banlangen effervescent tablets. There are also compound calcium carbonate effervescent tablets, multi-dimensional effervescent tablets, calcium-supplementing effervescent tablets, vitamin C effervescent tablets and so on. There are even vaginal effervescent tablets for external use to treat gynecological inflammation.
Among all the categories, vitamin C effervescent tablets are the most familiar and often talked about. Vitamin C is one of the essential vitamins for human body. Participating in the metabolism of nutrients and various reduction reactions can enhance the body's resistance and prevent various acute and chronic infectious diseases. People need to take a lot of vitamin C when they have a cold, fatigue, recovery from illness and wound healing.
Although vitamin C is good, we should not be greedy. You know, the consumption of vitamin C in the market is generally 400 mg per tablet, 1000 mg, while the recommended intake for ordinary adults is 100mg/ day. The dosage can be increased in special periods such as colds, but the therapeutic effect is not obvious. Excessive vitamin c can also cause diarrhea. In addition, various vitamins, trace elements and mineral supplements only play an auxiliary therapeutic role and cannot replace the daily diet. Therefore, we suggest eating more fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C. Balanced daily nutrition is the cornerstone of health.
There are two other questions to understand:
First, vitamin C effervescent tablets are not suitable for all people, such as kidney calculi patients and hemophiliacs.
Second, vitamin C effervescent tablets can't be combined with some drugs, such as warfarin and sulfonamides. If you have a special disease or are taking medicine, please consult your doctor before deciding whether to take effervescent tablets.

Different brands of effervescent tablets have different prices, and the difference mainly lies in taste, taste and packaging, and there is no big difference in composition.
The ingredients of effervescent tablets include drugs, disintegrating agents such as sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, which are dry and contain no water. After being put into water, the disintegrant in effervescent tablets reacts with water in acid-base neutralization, which will immediately produce a large amount of carbon dioxide gas to help the drug disperse quickly. Complete dissolution generally takes 1 min and 5 minutes. Because there are many bubbles produced and the time is fast, it is called effervescent tablets.
Sodium bicarbonate is an important component of effervescent tablets, and it also has a name called baking soda.
Baking soda is very common in life, but people often ignore that it also contains sodium. For example, an effervescent tablet of vitamin C is about 1g, which contains 0.2g sodium bicarbonate, which is equivalent to the sodium content of 0. 139g salt (sodium chloride). Therefore, for those with hyperlipidemia, hypertension, family history or other risk factors of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, the intake of salt should be appropriately reduced while taking effervescent tablets.
The advantages of effervescent tablets are convenient to take and easy to absorb.
Contrast: common tablets and capsules disintegrate in the stomach after oral administration, and the drugs are slowly released and absorbed, and the onset time is slow, which may also stimulate the gastric mucosa to some extent.
Oral effervescent tablets are different. They completely disintegrate in the water cup, and the medicine is completely absorbed quickly after taking. Therefore, it is especially suitable for children, the elderly and patients who have difficulty swallowing pills.
security issue
It is strictly forbidden to take it directly.
The correct way to open effervescent tablets is to take them immediately and soak them in warm water.
Put an effervescent tablet in about 100 ml of warm water or cold water, and shake the liquid evenly after the bubbles completely disappear and the medicine completely dissolves.
Knock on the blackboard! Effervescent tablets are strictly forbidden to be taken directly. If the effervescent tablets are directly put into the mouth, the effervescent tablets will take saliva in the mouth as the dissolution medium, and the whole disintegration process will be carried out in the mouth. A large amount of gas produced in a short time will quickly fill the airway or digestive tract, affecting breathing. This situation may even endanger the lives of young children, leading to suffocation or death.
If it is vitamin C effervescent tablets, it should be noted that the nature of vitamin C is unstable. If the water temperature exceeds 40℃ or it is left for too long, it may fail due to oxidation.
There are two other considerations:
① Because the bubbles in effervescent tablets are produced by the chemical reaction between organic acids and bicarbonate in water, acidic substances may corrode teeth, so it is recommended to rinse your mouth with clear water after taking effervescent tablets.
(2) When effervescent tablets are taken with tea or beverage, some medicinal components may react with some components of tea beverage, which may affect the efficacy.
There is only a small piece of effervescent tablets, but improper use may be life-threatening, so parents should pay more attention to storage and custody, and never let their children take them themselves.
① Keep effervescent tablets out of the reach of children to avoid unnecessary risks.
② Oral effervescent tablets and external effervescent tablets should be stored separately, and should not be mixed with medicines in the family medicine cabinet, which is also a good way to avoid eating by mistake.
③ Insoluble matter, sediment, floc, etc. will appear if the effervescent tablets are not tightly sealed, heated or damp. It will appear when you take it, so you should not take it again.
