So far, there is still no comprehensive and clear definition of mental health, and different theoretical schools and experts have given different definitions of mental health from different angles. Some scholars in China believe that people's mental health includes normal intelligence, good mood, harmonious interpersonal relationship, environmental adaptation and integrity of personality.
Normal intelligence: including those with abnormal intelligence who are distributed on the normal distribution curve of intelligence and can react normally to daily life; Good mood: including being able to maintain a happy, cheerful and confident mood, being good at finding fun from life and full of hope for life. Once you have negative emotions, you can and are good at adjustment, and your mood is stable.
Interpersonal harmony: including the willingness to associate with others, including stable and extensive interpersonal relationships and intimate friends. Maintain an independent and complete personality in communication, be self-aware, and be neither humble nor supercilious. Can objectively evaluate others, learn from others' advantages to make up for their own shortcomings, be tolerant of others, be helpful, etc.
Adapting to the environment: including having a positive attitude towards life, extensive contact with society, having a clear and correct understanding of the current social situation, having the ability to adapt to social reform and change, being brave in transforming the real environment, and realizing the coordination and unity of self-realization and social dedication.
Three functions of normal psychological activities:
1 can ensure people to adapt to the environment smoothly and survive and develop healthily.
2. Ensure that people can study, live, work and communicate with others normally.
3. Ensure that people can normally reflect and understand the objective world.
