Tianjin Education Entrance Examination Institute, formerly known as Tianjin Education Entrance Examination Center, was established in 1992. The center was formed by merging the office of Tianjin College Admissions Committee and the office of Tianjin Higher Education Self-taught Examination Committee, which were built in 1972 and 1982 respectively. In 20001year, Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government approved the establishment of Tianjin Education Entrance Examination Institute, which merged the entrance examinations undertaken by the former Tianjin Education Commission and Tianjin Education Bureau respectively to take charge of the education entrance examination in the whole city.
