The National Health and Wellness Committee recently issued the Action Plan for Maternal and Infant Safety (20 18-2020) and the Action Plan for Healthy Children (20 18-2020), aiming at ensuring maternal and infant safety and children's health.

The Action Plan for Maternal and Infant Safety (20 18-2020) proposes that by 2020, the national maternal mortality rate will be reduced to18/100000, and the national infant mortality rate will be reduced to 7.5‰. The plan proposes to carry out five major actions, including pregnancy risk prevention, critical care, quality and safety improvement, specialist capacity building, and convenience and quality service.
