According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Wenjiang District is under the jurisdiction of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, located in the northwest of Chengdu, in the center of Chengdu Plain, bordering Qingyang District in the east, Shuangliu District in the south, chongzhou city in the west, Pidu District and Dujiangyan City in the north, with a width of 18.5km from east to west and a length of 33km from north to south.
Liucheng Street, where the district government is located, is away from Chengdu center 16km and Shuangliu International Airport 18km. Wenjiang District, known as "Liucheng" in ancient times, is the birthplace of the ancient kingdom of Shu, Yu and Fu more than 4,000 years ago. Wenjiang County was founded in the second year of the Western Wei Dynasty (AD 555), with a history of 1, 465 years ago. The land here is fertile and the industry is developed, and it is known as the "Golden Wenjiang". In April 2002, Wenjiang County was abolished and Wenjiang District of Chengdu was established, which became an important part of downtown Chengdu.
