1, clinician. General practitioners are clinicians who serve patients and make correct diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation according to their health problems. For diseases or health problems that cannot be completely cured, we should carry out all-round and whole-process management, including disease prevention, early detection, intervention, rehabilitation and hospice care.
2. Health gatekeeper or first-time doctor. General practitioners, as first-time doctors, must be able to obtain effective medical information, judge patients' health problems and their severity in time, and help patients contact for consultation and referral when necessary.
3. Health educators and consultants. General practitioners have the responsibility to provide health and disease counseling services for clients, listen to patients' sick feelings and health behavior counseling, provide detailed explanations and materials for various health-related issues, and guide clients to effectively carry out self-care.
4. Coordinator. The training received by general practitioners enables them to have the awareness, knowledge and skills as resource coordinators. When patients need it, general practitioners can help coordinate medical resources inside and outside the family, inside and outside the community, and other medical care-related resources.
5. Effective managers. General practitioners are friends of community residents and their families. They know the health status of community residents and the related factors that affect their health best, and have extensive social resources. They are best equipped to implement a systematic, standardized, sustained and comprehensive management plan for patients with chronic diseases in the community. At the same time, healthy people and high-risk groups are evaluated and health management is carried out.
