Jiang 'an District belongs to Wuhan City, Hubei Province, bordering huangpi district in the east, Wuchang District and Hongshan District across the river in the south, Jianghan District along Jianghan Road and Sanyanqiao Road in the west, and Dongxihu District in the north. It is one of the seven central cities in Wuhan.
Jiang 'an District is the core of Hankou. It used to be the political center and foreign exchange center of the whole country. This is the former site of Wuhan Central Committee and Wuhan National Government. Hankou Concession, located along the Yangtze River in Jiang 'an District, is the third largest concession of foreign powers in China after Tianjin and Shanghai.
