Strategic Background of Healthy China 2030

People's health is an important symbol of national prosperity and prosperity. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China's medical and health undertakings have made remarkable achievements, the level of medical and health services has been greatly improved, and the main health indicators of residents are generally better than the average level of middle-and high-income countries. With the development of industrialization, urbanization, population aging and the change of ecological environment and lifestyle, chronic non-communicable diseases (hereinafter referred to as chronic diseases) have become the main cause of death and disease burden of residents. Chronic diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, tumors, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes account for more than 70% of the total disease burden, which has become an important factor restricting the improvement of healthy life expectancy. At the same time, the situation of prevention and control of major infectious diseases such as hepatitis, tuberculosis and AIDS is still grim, and problems such as mental health, occupational health and endemic diseases cannot be ignored. Major production safety accidents and traffic accidents occur from time to time. The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made a major decision to implement the strategy of healthy China, which fully reflected the firm determination to safeguard people's health. In order to actively deal with the current outstanding health problems, we must move forward and take effective intervention measures to prevent people from getting sick, improve their quality of life and prolong their healthy life. This is an effective strategy to achieve higher health performance at a lower cost, a realistic way to solve the current health problems, and an important measure to implement the healthy China strategy. Therefore, the Healthy China Action (20 19-2030) is specially formulated.
